Yeah, I've never heard anyone pronounce his name as Wad-del (that I can recall).
I guess if Favre can get people to call him Farve, anything is fair game.

Wa-Dell really does sound more fleet of foot than "Waddle". 
In every game I saw with Alabama, the announcers pronounced his name the same way all us have been saying it. Players generally don’t correct the announcers while in college but will eventually let it be known that their names are pronounced differently once they reach the NFL.
Personally I will call him by any name he wants me to as long as he ends up being the player I believe he can be for the Dolphins.

blah blah blah, if someone wants their name pronounced a certain way, then they should spell it accordingly.
He is Waddle if he wants to be WAD-DELL. well the courthouse is down the road I'm certain he has enough money for the name change forms.
I call him Daddy if he wins ROY.
