Wait what? I didn't know you former coaching staff allowed no audibles

Yes, Welcome to the hell of a bad coach...its been discussed before on here...

First it was the Go, Go-go and now it is the lack of audible...

the lack of audibles is completely on the current oc and how his offense goes about things...not on the former hc at all

Yes...Lazor appears to be too controlling and doesn't want to leave it up to the players...goes with the "my scheme trumps everything" mentality that Kelly has as well

i take that back about it not being on the hc somewhat...as i recall he hired lazor and lazor presented his offensive concepts to the staff during his interview etc which no doubt he put out that he uses motion to id coverage and while there are built ins based on what the qb sees there are no audibles etc

so philbin gets some of this also...this is what happens when you give total autonomy to someone when you hire them...when you let them drive...i guess miami was so desperate for someone to take the gig and the only way as lazor has even said he would was if he had total control on offense they gave in

I know Tannehill was allowed to audible under Sherman, for instance in his third game as a rookie he made that ridiculous audible to a pass against the Jets in OT when we were already in field goal range and threw it deep to Hartline who was at least double covered. A wise man would try to get us a little closer for the game winning kick, not Tanney though.

And he also audibled out of a run on that infamous sack-strip-turnover against the Bills that set you up for the easy score.

This no audible thing is a recent development and I think its the system Lazor runs as I'm pretty sure Sam Bradford doesn't audible either.

And and how is Bradford looking this year minus 1 game?

Something has to change when a defense blitzes the same CB 3 times in a row, has success each time and your QB has no ability to get out of play

and both those audibles under sherman were the correct calls by the qb...so there's that nonsense again creeping in

The same as Sam Bradford has always looked.

hots and site adjustments not a play change call or a slided protection alert...the slot db over the slot wr blitzed...twice the ball didnt get thru at the line the other time it was a blown hot by the wr...

there's no need to audible there anyways

eagles use tempo to offset somewhat the inability to check out and also get mostly basic coverage looks and little dialed up blitz ability from the opposition cause of the speed with which they play and they cant sub in personnel

This is the thing that was pissing me off during the game day thread. People typing "the QB has to recognize the blitz!!"". They completely miss the fact that he DID recognize the blitz. I asked the question during the thread "what makes you think he didn't recognize the blitz?" No replies.

When the DB blitzes AND the interior of the line allows quick pressure, you're screwed as a QB. When your WR doesn't adjust the route and the QB has to eat the ball, it is not his fault.

Yes I get that too. You guys don't do that though, most of the time your offense is pretty slow. It is when you go with tempo it starts to look better.

My issue with the no audible is the Extension that was just signed screams Franchise QB, if he can change protections, call hots then he should be able to change the play.

Example with Bills Tyrod has the play call called and the audibles off it called in every snap. Might be the play call and 1 change or the play call with 2 changes. So Roman is somewhat keeping control on what he can audible too, but allows the QB to make that call.

our offense is meant to be played no huddle and fast tempo that way you can hide some of your holes in it more like the damn inability to check out of things...but it's not...and it's on this damn oc or philbin or both that it hasn't been...tempo helps your running game helps your pass pro hell it helps your defense if you can score damn points...miami lets the opposition match personnel every damn play and with our substandard guard play and inability to run the ball when the opposition knows it's coming you are screwed if that is the case

miami uses motion which means the play is already in process to id coverage...there are no dummy snap counts which means there wont be any checking out...cause you can't stop motion when it ids coverage and then start it again...it's a penalty

Nice article but he asks the wrong question. The question isn't "When will Tannehill be allowed to audible?" The question should be to Lazor - "If you won't allow a smart QB to audible, who will get that option?"

This is totally on the OC.
