People keep saying Miami drafted two receivers because they don't like Matthews, Gibson or Hartline. I think in reality it could be that some other team really likes one of those three receivers and a trade for a guard, linebacker or back may have already been agreed to and Miami was looking to replace a soon to be outgoing player. Not so much that Miami doesn't like a player, rather a team might have something Miami needs or wants and sometimes you have to lose a good player to get another. Won't be shocked if a trade is announced in the next 72 hours.

I think one of those "shoes" drops at the end of training camp or at the start of the 15 league year.

Gibson and Hartline are both coming off injurys, and Bill Lazor seems to like 4 wr sets. It could be simply loading up on a position.

As of today Miami has: Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson, Rishard Matthews, Jarvis Landry, Matt Hazel, Damian Williams, Armon Binns, Michael Spadola, Kevin Cone, Michael Rios and Ratavious Wooten I doubt Miami takes 12 receivers to camp in 11 weeks.

I would opt for Mike Wallace being traded to the Browns for a high 2015 draft pick. This entire offseason was about bringing in players who are not p*****s.

How could you not like Gibson if he is back 90-100%? He was our best receiver once he got a few games under his belt. RT and Gibson started developing something special IMO. You have to let that blossom if Gibby comes back healthy. He's not going anywhere.

I'm not buying all the Matthews rumors. He may end up near the bottom of the corps but I like the way the guy performs. He made some nice plays.

Hartline - I think they know what they got. It isn't getting any better than what it is. It's not special. It's OK. I could see them looking for a trade or to drop him out of the starting lineup after this year.

Wallace - I think they'd love to get rid of him but that won't happen until 2015 barring a great 2014 performance.

We might cut Matthews and binns but Wallace Hartline and Gibson are going nowhere

I think what we all want is increased competition for the team to become better for it. We need to let the vets know there are no givens on this roster that they have to earn it.

I just think too many people on here overestimated the talent of the wide receiver corps on the roster coming into this year's draft. I was hoping the Dolphins would address it during the draft and they did. I still do not think they have an elite true number one receiver or even someone that can develop into one on the roster as of now.

its just irons in the fire...thats all it is.

Lazor will run 5 WR vs. Pats.

Using this calculator to figure out the cap room for the Dolphins before say a Mike Wallace trade this year...

2014 Before Trade the Salary cap is $150, 622,413 and the Cap room for 2014 is $16,362,418

2015 Before Trade the Salary cap is $140, 000,000 and the Cap room for 2015 is $1,755,272. (Not counting a rollover from 2014).

--

2014 After a Trade the Salary cap is $150, 622,413 and the Cap room for 2014 is $24,317,418

2015 After a Trade the is $140, 000,000 and the Cap room for 2015 is $13,855,272 (Not counting a rollover from 2014).

So a Trade may be a possibility but which NFL Team would want to pick up his contract? That is the question.

Cody Latimer could have been a true #1 WR. We should just picked him at 50.

I wonder what Hickey smashed when Denver traded ahead of us.

I like Landry, (a nice security blanket for Ryan) he's tough and catches everything, but he's small and slow not a good combo. I really don't think he should ever leave the slot. Hazel has good hands and decent speed but he's not particularly big. He's a developmental player that's not guaranteed anything. I don't think we have a glut of WR's, especially guys who excel outside. Hartline and wallace are overpaid and may eventually go because of that, but Landry and Gibson would scare the hell out of me as our number 2 WR. I too would have liked Latimer. I think he will be better on the outside and in the end zone, two thing the phins currently lack.
