Wake is back to his old form and Deion Branch with his one-year deal is playing for a huge contract next year. Just like OV did like year. He is becoming one of Tannenbaum best signing so far.

Adrian Branch......!? Pretty good player alongside Len Bias at Maryland. :)

Branch Rickey and WakeZilla are definitely gettin after it! Was nice to see Mario go hard against Big Mouth Belly Boy Rex too

wondering why theres not more posts about this....I think branch playing alongside a rotation of wake/williams doing more of a 50/50 split is working so why not continue? even jason jones played pretty good aside from his penalty (s) ....i think our depth at DE is pretty solid and we gotta continue to keep williams and wake fresh and hungry..overall the whole d line played well with phillips and suh getting penetration forcing taylor to escape

Also MARIO Williams was a huge factor in the 4th quarter, the amount of rotation for each de player was spot on.

Branch reminds me a lot of OV actually. High effort player, does his job well. He carries out his assignments, doesn't go "off script" if you know what I mean. A reliable player.

Wake is playing on another level right now though. No effects of the Achilles tear. Remarkable.

And both ex CFLers! Branch (Toronto) and Wake (BC) which makes this Canadian very happy.
I really like what Branch is doing but when did he play for Toronto? I follow CFL a bit, and I don't remember him at all...

I think Coach Washburn has developed Branch beyond what he was as a player, while in Jacksonville. I believe Branch has taken Washburns teaching and has taken his play to another level. He was always a fringe type player and now I view him as a Starting type DE. It's say's a lot about the type of coaches Miami now has on staff. Seeing Washburn and Branch as Washburn spoke to Branch in his ear and hugging on the sideline after Branch made a play, speaks volumes as to who might be responsible for the defenses turn around the last few weeks. Wake has returned to his old self and it is pure joy watching him play like a man possessed. Jordan Phillips has also become more consistent as well, so he also seems to be turning his young career around.

The defense is more of a mash type unit if you consider with that Jones out the entire starting secondary and what little experience we have is made up of 2nd year players with little starting experience. The linebackers starting are pretty much in the same boat outside of a hobbled Jenkins. The defensive line is the strength of this defense with experience with Suh, 2nd year player Phillips, and a over the hill DE named Wake coming back from a serious achilles tendon injury. The rest of the line are rejects and or backups from other systems. Soo if this group performs I would name em the Mashmouths.
