Ten days after being selected to the Pro Bowl, cornerback Brent Grimes and Cameron Wake both added second-team AP All-Pro honors to their 2014 resume.

Grimes finished fourth in the voting by a national panel of 50 media members, receiving four votes to join Chris Harris Jr. of the Denver Broncos on the second team. Darrelle Revis of the New England Patriots and Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks were selected as the first-team All-Pro cornerbacks.

Wake was tied for fourth-most votes with the Philadelphia Eagles’ Fletcher Cox among defensive with five apiece.

Wake was a first-team AP All-Pro selection at defensive end in 2012 and a second-team selection at linebacker in 2010.

The Dolphins had one All-Pro selection in 2013 when punter Brandon Fields made the second team.

Grimes finished tied for third in the NFL in 2014 with five interceptions; Wake was 11th with 11.5 sacks.

I'm happy for them. I think Wake is somewhat deserving, as he flat out won a couple of games for us and was extremely productive as a pass rusher, despite disappearing at times.

I can't say that I think Grimes deserves it, but hey, good for him.

Making all-pro cements the pay raise next year for Wake IMO. Good for him.

The fact that we had two all pros (almost 3 with Jones) on the defense and still played like dog **** the last 5 games is upsetting.

Congrats to the players regardless

Two second team All-Pros on a defense that finished the year like that ... smh.

It takes 11 to play good defense. We had a lot of injuries down the stretch on defense. Wake helped us win Jet game with key sack. He also helped in the Viking game by making the critical sack that setup game winning safety. Grimes didn't make any impact plays down the stretch like Wake did.

Don't disagree with you, but when you have two guys that are basically considered to be elite defenders on your defense, that's a much better start than most teams have, and it should allow you to cover for some of your inadequacies elsewhere. That doesn't even take into account the year Jones had or that Vernon is pretty good, too ... I guess what I am saying is where the Dolphins are bad on defense they are very bad. Injuries or not.

Just no. Run defender sure, pass rusher no.

It really boils down to the run defense. Once it went south it affected our pass defense and ability to get off field after turnovers. Early in the season we didn't face a lot of good running teams. The run d stats were better because of it. Down the stretch we faced a lot of good running teams and the run d was exposed. Then the injuries piled on.

He's single covered all the time and doesn't do anything.

He's gotten to the QB 21.5 times. A lot of teams would like to have that kind of not doing anything.
