“It’s going pretty good so far—a good week of practice getting ready for another primetime game under the lights, which is always a lot of fun,” Wake said of this week in an interview with The Finsiders. “I’m looking forward to it.”

As for the potential distraction the national media is talking about, Wake insists the issue won’t get in their way of preparation for Monday night.

“The people who talk about that are more on the outside looking in,” he said. “Football is full of distractions. [Whether] it’s something going on in your home, you forgot to feed your dog, or it’s raining, it’s snowing, it’s hot and you’re tired, the crowd is screaming, you can’t get a call, you’re bleeding—those are all distractions.

“And the way football is set up is, you have to eliminate all those things. It doesn’t matter what’s going on. You have a job and it’s making a tackle, catching a ball—you have to get that job done. Day-to-day, week-to-week, we eliminate those distractions and we go out there and do our jobs. So, we have nothing but professionals in the locker room and I wouldn’t expect anything but that.”

Spoken like a man on a mission. This is just one player, I do hope the rest of the team feels the same way. Maybe the players just needed a day to vent to the media, and it's back to business. Maybe the Martin situation takes the heat of losing 4 in a row off, and let's the team just concentrate on the next game. A double digit win would signal that the locker room is in full working order.

I want to see this team come out playing with passion and fire. It's on the coaches to have this team focused on tampa 100%. I have seen the dolphins play flat and unprepared many times this season. It is time for philbin to take control of his team and lead them.

Philbin says they have to avoid distraction and keep working towards Monday night's game: "My focus is on Tampa Bay."

For you young guys on this site, that is leadership. Not making an excuse, not complaining, just being a man about a situation and doing what he is required to do. That tone will resonate with the rest of the team. Very well done, Wake.

****, media is going to spin the story that Wake tried to kill his dog.

But seriously, maybe wake isn't the most vocal player we have...but some leaders lead by example, and wake does that better than anyone.

wake is a beast...I'm looking forward to another big primetime game from him

Like some of us have said all along. "How can this mess have anything to do with winning or losing a football game"?

This idea of "distraction" is over blown and frankly stupid.

"let's do our job with passion, focus, dedication, and professionalism"

One big ass whoopin on the Bucs is what this team needs right now. Complete dominance by all three units.

It is what is needed. Now imagine if the opposite happens.
If we don't win...I don't want to even think about it. Philbin better have this team ready and he better make good decisions. This is a massive performance for him, and he is clearly already feeling massive pressure.
It's your time Joe! Better go get 'em. A bad coaching outing on Primetime in this case will be strongly remembered.

I simply cannot see a failure this Monday. It cannot happen, I'm not even thinking about it as a possibility

So often in sports the "opposite" happens and this seems to be an easy win for Miami.
