This draft is deep, really loaded with talent everywhere.
Wake can pressure the qb, but sucks against runs.
Do you see the office moving him if we were offered a 2nd rounder
for him? Do you even think he would garnish a 2nd rounder?
thoughts to ponder as we hit the offseason...

Why do every time we get talent everyone wants to trade them off? highly doubt we will get a second anyway. With porter and taylor near the end of their careers i say we keep him and work on his coverage and run stopping skills

No, Wake will not bring the Dolphins a 2nd rd pick. He's a situational player who was not featured as often as a 2nd rd pick would garner.

How come everyone says that he "sucks" against the run? He has never really been given much of an opportunity to show one way or the other on running downs. He is for all intents and purposes a rookie in the NFL and a converted 4-3 DE. Give the guy a chance.

As far as trading him, I seriously doubt anyone offers us a 2nd rounder for him. If they did I would expect the FO to jump all over it.

I don't think anyone would offer that, but in this draft it would be something to ponder. This is going to be a very loaded draft and I think Miami (or any team) would love to gain as many round 1-4 picks as possible.

Wake doesn't appear to have been able to pick up coverage and play with his hand off the ground. He does turn 28 at the end of the month, but you can never have enough pass rushers. It would be a tough choice and not sure which way I would go, but I don't think anyone would give them a #2 for him.

We got Wake for free last offseason, and while he's been excellent pressuring the QB in very limited time, why not develop the talent for ourselves?? Plus you couldn't get a 2nd for him right now.

that would remind me of the time we sent ogunlye to chicago. im not saying wake is that good but he has the potential to. i still hate that trade to this day.

What are we doing? You wanna start trading away our talent, but I tell you what you find a GM that will give you a 2nd and then SOLD!!!!!

for a 2nd rounder YES i do it

we have both our OLB's nearing the end of there career. Wake is the only serviceable backup we have.

Wake is 27 years which isnt old or young and he will be more then likely our starting OLB/ DE in 2011 when jason taylor retires

We get rid of a potentially great NFL pass-rusher in the making, that with time and some work could get better against the run, for a 2nd round pick where you will need to be very lucky, and extremely informed to get a LB as good as Wake has a chance to become....makes no sense.

Wake is still learning the position, changing from DE to LB is not easy. He is also trying to get used to the speed of the NFL, we need to give him a chance, Wake is too talented to give away for a 2nd round pick.

Why trade him when he will now have a full offseason to work agenst teh run aand see where he needs to improve when you see Taylor and probly porter gone we will need him to step up his game and i'm sure he will.

NO!!! If he ends up playing as well as he has done with the few snaps he' got, he could be one of the best players in the league...let alone the team. You would not find a 2nd worth trading him for.

As for his problems against the run, we really haven't seen that...so saying he is "bad against the run" is just parrotting this board IMO..
