Anybody complaining about the DT pick please go back and watch the Ravens ,Chiefs and Broncos games from last year. We ost 2 starting DT's and signed one. We actually did need another one. Mitchell's forte has never been a run stuffer AND he's under sized. Johnson , Mitchell and Francis were ALL on the team last year and couldn't do anything about the yards the aforementioned teams put up on us running the ball. This WAS A NEED and I'm glad the FO SAW IT because most of us fans didn't although it was right there in our faces all year.

It's amazing how people are willing to throw AJ Francis and Kamal Johnson who were both late round picks if I'm not mistaken out there as solutions to our issues stopping the run, but the two high draft pick corners are NOT considered by many as options to fill the other CB spot and everyone wants another CB taken early... How does that work? I actually have more faith in Taylor and Davis developing into starting corners than I do Johnson and Francis developing into starting DT's solid backups maybe but not starters.

its funny how many people wanted Danny Shelton in the first but are complaining we took a DT in the 2nd

that pick was great, Phillips will be a monster and free up Suh to do his thing, our LB´s will be freed up as well

no problem with adding depth at DT because you can never have enough. however, you dont pick a total project player in rd 2
Not to mention we have nothing at LB and we passed on potential pro bowler in perryman

We already have two starting caliber DTs. We have 0 starting caliber MLBs.

Yep! To the OP, it's not that anyone here thinks we couldn't have used another DT, but we have very pressing needs with no starting caliber players at certain positions and at DT we already have Suh, do I really need to go any further?

To be quite honest, the pressing needs thing is a bit overblown. I am waiting to see the fifth rd. said to be the meat of the draft.

Mitchell is bad against the run. We needed a run stuffer like Phillips. Mitchell is a good pass rushing DT and will be rotated to keep each other fresh. You can't just have 2 DT and noone behind them. Our front office is set on keeping misi at middle for now. The LBs will play better behind a dominate dline like we are making

He;s not raw. He's not a project. He's a player that needs to work a little harder. That clicks or it doesn't. But he should contribute right away. And he's much more talented than Earl Mitchell, and I think Mitchell is a solid player. We needed a BIG DT to eat space beside Suh. We have that now.

Getting a beast run stuffer next to such only frees him up more to get to the QBs. He will help such just as much as such will help him.

So you just advocate drafting for need then??? everybody pays lip service to drafting BPA. My preference is you list the things you need in the draft and when your pick comes you take the best player that plays a position on that list. Not the position that is the greatest need. Take the greatest need every time and you will skip over way too much talent.

I'm not complaining, I love the pick.
