well depending on what you officially consider Wake( I believe he is a LB) this comparison maybe off,but I did research all rookies that could have been considered a 3-4 OLB and here are the stats vs Cam Wake

*remember Wake has not been giving much playing time, some of these other rookies are starters.

Tackle/sack
Larry English 21/2
Everrett Brown 16/1.5
Clay Matthews 35/7
Brian Orakpo 40/7
Paul Krueger 9/0
Aaron Maybin 11/0
Micheal Johnson 15/2
Robert Ayers 15/0
Brian Cushing 102/1.5
Lawrence Sidbury 4/1
Clint Sintim 10/1

Cam Wake 17/4.5

Glad we here at finheaven dont draft some of these guys just dont seem to be making an impact, although we should remember as a true LB Wake has been very slow to develope.

In fact Ireland said the team needs to find a young OLB to develope.

Didn't he have 3 of those sacks in a blowout win vs. Buf?

yes, and Most pass rushers get their extra stats during those times.

Whats your point?

Thats like saying a running backs yards in the 4th quarter dont mean anything because they happen to spot a 14 point lead on the opponent.

ps. Hows Gholston doing? 18 tackles 0 sacks?

Cam Wake has 5.5 sacks, not 4.5. He had ANOTHER sack against the JAGS remember? Not to mention his numerous QB hits/hurries...

But again back to your OP, what was your point?

I keep heraing how great he is and he has just 1 1/2 sacks in the games besides the Buf game.

I don't even see him at all in our 2 meetings and I have seen a bunch of toher Dolphin games this year and have yet to notice him.

I'm sure he's doing more than I have seen but the way folks are talking it makes it seem like you have the next LT(the real LT not the SD RB).

He has 2 1/2 aside from the 3 in BUF, because he had YET ANOTHER SACK against the JAGS, for a total of 5.5 for the season (and that's because he hasn't been used enough or he'd be in double digits by now). Plus if you paid attention, you'd see that he ALWAYS puts consistent pressure on the QB and at "least" hurries or hits the QB when he doesn't sack him. THAT'S a pass RUSHER true to the word...

I consider him a DE. Most of the tie I see him on the field, he has his hand in the dirt

I'll take your word for it, I haven't seen the guy show up on screen(or at the Jet-Miami game up here in person) so i don't have much to go by. It sounds like he is doing ok but he's being talked about like he's an all-pro. Calm down a bit, this goes for jet fans to- we always overrated or give up on players too quickly.

he barely shows up on the stat sheet because he's a pass rushing specialist at this point. he leads the team in pressures even though he plays roughly a third of the amount of pass rushing downs Taylor and Porter play.
