Walt Aikens signs 4 year deal

According to Armando, the reason Aikens left practice with trainers was because of dehydration. Should be back at camp tomorrow.

Edit: Aikens has a good sense of humor. Just tweeted this picture of what he is doing tonight.

Aikens looks like he can play CB or S because of his size. I liked Decir better but maybe the S factor won out for Aikens.
 
Hickey is looking for CB's of all types. He is looking at small guys like Grimes, and big guys like Aikens, combo guys at CB/S like Wilson and boundary/slot guys like Finnegan and Taylor. We aren't looking for one type of guy.

Aikens offers size and would be a good candidate to learn from more feisty guys like Finnegan and physical guys like Delmas.

I'm confident that Aikens will make the roster because Hickey is making the final choices and he needs a good showing. The guy has physical talent and opportunities to learn a lot from this group. We will have injuries with all these injury-prone older guys like Finnegan, Delmas, etc. If Aikens applies himself he will be a good addition.

I always expect more from the previous years rookies than the new guys and it usually goes that well on the field, so idk if Aikens will do much this year. Maybe some good spt plays here and there. I expect Will Davis and Taylor to make some big leaps this year more than the rook.

Maybe the rook will push Davis and Taylor to play better.
 
Glad he's hydrating. Hoping he comes on strong. Shouldn't be hard to beat Will Davis. I expect him to be our 4th cb
