haha, i love how everyone keeps saying james was a reach. we will see come game time. he was a need and we filled it with what imo is a solid player. do they not realize that he is a good enough player who wouldnt have been around by the time we picked in the 2nd??

Wallace is fast.

Laundry is quick.

Fast will kill you deep.

Quick will kill you in the slot.

i honestly think we will get some production out of him not just in the slot...his awareness is so good and his route running so precise and he knows how to set dbs up so i'm not gonna pidgeon hole him as a slot only but it's where the lion share of his production will come from...lined up on the inside...when he gets one on one looks with no help over the top though from the inside watch out though cause he will surprise with his chunk yardage abilities

the bottom line is the guys a damn good football player and as long as this team is drafted that kind of player i dont really care if it's a current need or not...at the end of the day the guys gonna help us...and a lot...it's a far change from all the crap day 2 picks this teams made who were either damaged goods or sucked even as prospects

So basically they are saying that Miami needed a player they believed could help the line, which sounds like they agree he will start on the line, but still feel they could have gotten this player later, and for that reason, he's a C-......Really?

That sounds kind of stupid, shouldn't a player that will start, and is expected by most everyone to be at the very least solid at the position he is going to play get a grade higher then C-....Reason #125 why putting much stock in these people's OPINION, should always be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm quite sure you have access to a computer that is equipped with google. Simply type "jarvis landry hamstring" into the search bar and hit enter. I'm not going to debate whether or not it's the only reason he ran slow at the combine, he's the only one who actually knows. I do know that he ran 2 tenths faster at his pro day (coincidence??) but the damage to his draft stock was already done. Todd McShay stated the only reason he didn't have a 1st round grade on him was because of his speed.

For the record, I could give a **** what McShay thinks but I can only assume that many other "experts" felt the same way, that his game tape doesn't line up with his measurables in shorts and a t-shirt and they're not about to put a 1st round grade on a wr that ran a 4.77 at the combine, bad hammy or not.

First, I have no clue what you're referring to with the media lies comment so pass...Second I never suggested that he was a burner but the fact that he ran a 4.77 at the combine had to effect his draft stock. Had he run a 4.58, which is where many expected him to run at the combine and like he did at his pro day I believe he would have had a 1st round grade on many draft boards. He's just too good everywhere else. Was the slow time attributed to the hamstring?? I don't know for sure and neither do you but I believe that for the 1st time in a long time we made a big score in round 2.

there's no doubt the timed run at the combine hurt landry...hell at his pro day he ran low 4.6's...at the combine he pulled up pretty much after he crossed the line so i dont really buy the hammy stuff effected that timed run all that much but the bottom line is the guy plays as fast as he times and working on the inside against stiffer hipped more quick acceleration than long speed guys he will work people over with his precise route running footwork ability to read coverage and leverage ideal ball skills and awareness pluck the ball out of the air hands and toughness...he gets off the los damn well and locates the football like a natural

the thing you won't see is a whole lot of separation over longer distances but if the timings right there will be plenty of windows to fit the ball in cause he wins quickly...i saw so many missed vertical even opportunities in 2013 with landry when mettenberger got hurt and the other kid played in the bowl game cause the qbs timing sucked...one thing about tannehill is that you can't really knock his timing the ball comes out timely...

his first year starter tape in 2012 at lsu is as natural as it gets when it comes to a wr...i mean the polish he shows even then you just don't find it very often...this kid was meant to play football...a pure football player...

my favorite 2nd round pick this teams made since i started really paying attention to prospects...easily...ready to contribute from day 1...just a matter of how long before he gets his opprtunity...i'm betting he's in some sets from week 1

no stupid ass red shirt season here and need for bs excuses about high picks not being ready to contribute here...i never bought that crap anyways...you draft the right people they can help you from the get go...

I agree with all this. I'm excited to see him progress.

I disagree with the idea that Matthews is more of a finished product than Landry (referring to a previous post). Matthews has more physical upside, but Landry does the little things better (not a knock on Matthews). I'm excited about Landry. He's a winning player.
