Walter football has us getting Wisconsin OLB/DE O'Brien Schofield... anyone know a lot about him?

edit: Ok ESPN just posted some news on him... East/West game defensive MVP but he also tore his ACL during practice for the senior bowl yesterday....... this mock was before that so i assume he'll be lower than the 4th now?

well he just tore his ACL yesterday so i doubt we draft him in the first 4 rounds

here's what they got us picking:

1- Rolando McClain, ILB
2- Jeremy Williams, WR, Tulane
3- Torell Troup, NT, UCF
4- O'brien Schoefield, OLB, Wisconsin

Too bad that he hurt his ACL. That article also talks about how he comes from playing DE and instead of rushing the passer the whole game he learned how to cover receivers on the fly at LB.... going from rough at coverage to covering better than any other linebacker after 1 week of practice.....

Troup is not a NT...he cant handle a dbl. team for s***.....

Dude has a man crush on Jeremy Williams. Williams runs very good routes and has pretty good hands but runs like a train (slow at first but gains speed the more he moves) IMO he's going to run in the 4.6 range. Troup isn't a NT, you have to be able to manage double teams, he can't do that. If O'Brien did tear his ACL he's not worth a 4th rounder.

I like Schofield, I think he'd be worth a flier in the 6th for darn sure. He's a converted DE, and the year off because of injury might actually be a blessing in disguise as he'll get a ton of time to start studying coverages. For some reason I just really like this kid and think he'll be a gamer when it comes down to it, If he's there in the 6th, snap him up.

Was going to suggest the same. Stick him on IR let him develop mentally and then next year let him at it. A risk for sure, I guess it depends how high they were on him considering the transition.

UPDATED: Walterfootball changed our fourth round pick from O'Brien Schofield to Jason Worilds.

I know thats what ive been thinking. Jeremy Williams in the second? im not to sure about that.

according to Hokies sports hes 6'2 252lbs good size for an OLB. Im intrigued by him and not to mention he was born in Jersey so you can bet Parcells Knows about this kid.

I think we can pick him up in the 7th or even undrafted due to his injury. Guy is a beast though when healthy, and very smart

I work for his dad Anthony Schofield, He is a Senior Chief in the US Navy. His dad had been an RDC "Navy Drill Instructor" two times and i'm sure it has led to some leadership skills.

It really sucks that he suffered the injury. Every time his dad heard someone talking about football he changed from a stone faced *** hole into a guy that really looked like he loved life.

At one point last year he led FBS in tackles for a loss and yes he is very smart.

I would be happy with him as a late second day pick.

Schofield was an up and coming name out of Wisconsin... having great drills and destroying some linemen with quickness and speed. but he tore himself up, not good... feel bad for him i do.

and Jeremy Williams i need to see more of, but from what i have seen so far, not too reliable in the route running, seperation and all.
