Overall pick:

25. Miami Dolphins: Victor Harris, CB, Virginia Tech

Miami has gotten better against the pass recently. In fact, prior to the Chiefs game, they hadn't given up a touchdown in three weeks. But that doesn't mean that the Dolphins don't need an upgrade at corner; they still rank 20th versus opposing aerial strikes. Victor Harris would be an excellent upgrade for a secondary that needs help everywhere.

49. Miami Dolphins: Louis Delmas, FS, Western Michigan

Back-to-back picks spent on defensive backs? That's not something Dolphin fans may enjoy, but the team needs all the help in the secondary it can get. Miami ranks 20th against the pass.

Pick change; previously Alphonso Smith, CB

56. Miami Dolphins: Ron Brace, NT, Boston College

Jason Ferguson just turned 34, and his contract expires after the 2009 season. The Dolphins will need to acquire a new nose tackle in the near future.

Pick change; previously Kam Chancellor, S

91. Miami Dolphins: Brandon Gibson, WR, Washington State
Ted Ginn and Davone Bess both have their strengths, but neither wideout is a massive target. At 6-1, 204, Brandon Gibson could be the solid split end Miami was looking for when it signed Ernest Wilford.

I like the Victor Harris pick, but don't know much about the other picks. I do think we need a great CB, but I can't see us taking D-Backs back to back.

I just don't think Parcells/Ireland go Linebackerless with the first 4 picks . . . doesn't seem reasonable to me.

Tuff to pass on Cody or Sintim with that first pick.

i agree...i think a LB will definitely be picked on the first day,and quite possibly an OLB with our 1st rd pick...

its 44th pick not 49 and miami wont go w/out a LB in round 1 or 2.

Sorry, this mock was made on Dec. 25th, so the exact spot where we will draft was not yet determined. It should not make that much of a difference though as guys can move up or down 5-10 spots in the draft order, if not more, depending on their combines and other factors. You also don't know for sure whether some guys will come out for the draft, or remain in school.

I thought our secondary was one of our strengths this year. I would rather see us go for a linebacker or a pass rushing defensive end if we draft defense in the first round.

I agree. I LOVE Macho, but if we passed on Cody, Raji, Cushing AND Sintim to take him, I'd be pissed! Cody or Cushing would be my first picks there.

Macho is an early 2nd rounder at best right now, so that seems a little high for him.

I really like the Delmas pick though!

I think a draft like:

1. Clint Sintim - OLB
2a. Macho Harris - CB
2b. Louis Delmas - FS
3. Terrence Taylor/Ron Brace - NT

I don't think I could be mad at a draft like that. Take the best ILB next and we are good to go. Get some late round OT depth.

WalterFootball is slowly starting to pull it's head out of their @ss when it comes to Miami's needs. I still believe that it will be OLB Clint Sintim with Miami's first round pick. Delmas is a good pick, I'll give them that. I also like the selection of NT Ron Brace. Now, I'm sure Brandon Gibson is a fine WR, but I see Miami addressing the OL with that pick.

if they plan to go after Suggs, they may. but i agree, Parcells build inside out, so going secondary now doesnt quite make sense. i think one cb and then one lb.

Why am I seeing Cushing's name? Hes not a 3-4 lb.

t6hats an amazing draft : )

Weak draft! None of those guys are immediate impact players in our scheme. Victor Harris is going to be a third round pick. His speed is his biggest question mark, and he fits a zone defense more than a man on man team, like ours.

our pass defense needs a pass rusher more than it needs a DB

Roth just aint cutting it

what are you talking about? USC runs a 3-4 just like us,not to mention Cushing is 6'3",255(Joey Porter's size)...hey is perfect size for a 3-4 SOLB...

Still,I perfer Sintim witht he first pick in the first. He is a much better pass rusher than Cushing, but you cant go wrong with either, really.
