Wanny Added to Bills Staff

Bills fans better hope that Gailey doesn't get fired now that we know who is next up on deck...

Wanny went 41-31 (1-8 his last season) & led the Fins to 9 wins or more 4 out of 5 seasons with Jay Fiedler. In 6 full seasons since he left, the Fins have gone 41-55. Obviously, Wanny was the main problem with the Fins. :err:

Plus, he will be a LB coach & assistant head coach. His record as a defensive coach is on par with anyone in the NFL not named LeBeau. This is a very good hire for the Bills.

Honestly you may have not needed Wanny to compete for last place with us..Cause its looking like we will be at the bottom again. There is something good about Continuity Bills dont really have that.. They go from a 4-3 to a 3-4. Were embarassed because of it. They go back to a 4-3. Sign Merriman a classic 3-4 OLB, Start showing some more 3-4 looks. Now they hire a Lb's/ Assistant HC in Wanny who prefers a 43. Its just not the right move unless they are going to get rid of Edwards..Which wont be a bad thing..But then what? Do they purge the roster again of all the 34 guys that they just drafted?
It's been ugly. The Bills have had no real strength to build on, Identity, continuity or sure hand guiding them for years. At least since Williams was the coach. T Donahoe messed thing up pretty good too. It's been a culture of dismantling more than building.

Nix, Whaley and Gailey have some credentials and respect and are working toward building a team from the ground up. It was the only direction they could go. The organization was flat lining and ready to be taken off life support by the end of Jaurons tenure. There were a couple of bright spots, like April. Fewell was rewarded for what he accomplished with Jaurons Dome team D out in the elements.

If the adage a team takes on the personality of it's coach holds true, good old 7-9 Jauron installed the "it's tough to win in the NFL" and play not to lose mentality. Some of Gaileys first words were " I don't hope to win I expect to win". His nobody roster played that way and bounced back after some cover your eyes losses. Gailey might not be the best in the biz, but he has the right attitude and the opportunity to prove his nay sayers wrong.

Point is, if the D is Wanny-ized and confident and talent is added to the roster, the defense will evolve. This year was a starting point for Gailey to see what he had to move forward with. Now he's moving forward with Wannastedt who will put his stamp on that side of the ball. 34, 43????? He'll be working with Edwards, not against him. Time will prove if they get it done one way or the other.

Now I am hoping ricky gets resigned by us. Would make it interesting.
