neither were good, but at least with wanny, you knew what he wanted to do. saban didnt seem to have much of a philosophy other than to list platitudes

plus, wanny was so open to the media that the fans got a good sense of what was going on behind closed doors. i hope we get that aspect back
 
Saban is a better coach there's no doubting that however, Wanny is a better human being and there's no doubting that either.

What both of them have in common is that they were both colossal mistakes in this franchises history.

Yeah, at least Wanny didn't go around lying to people
 
Besides his awful last season (1-8, ouch), Wanny led us to 2 postseasons, and barely missed a 3rd in '03 with a 10-6 record. Satan on the other hand talked a good game but thats wer it ended. I would also speculate that the Fins would have had an 8-8 record in '05 if the Patsy's actually had something to play for in the final game. So Satan is a 2-time loser in my book

Wanny: 42-31 (.575). Despite lack of support, a stand up guy
Satan: 15-17 (.468). A fraud and a failure.

Wanny wins this debate easily IMO.
 
Wanny seem to play not to lose rather than play to win?.... too conservative
But still a classy "pittsburg kinda guy"
I think he still keeps a good relationship with Zach and JT
 
Nick Saban played to Win, but lose in the closing seconds! His kicker in Alabama better get some practice.
 
Wanny was good, but I think the Ricky thing was the end for him. The offense was in shambles and so was the coaching staff. Bates did a great job turning things around and Bates has a couple of Superbowls I believe with the Cowboys.
 
Off-topic but I heard that Wanny is a candidate for Pittsburgh HC if Cowher leaves is that true
 
Wanny was a class act. He wasn't a good coach but he was a good guy. saban was a bad coach and a prick.

When Wanny left I was happy but sad for the individual, and I wish him luck in Pittsburgh.

With saban, I never want to see Alabama win another game or Saban. I hope Saban is fired in two years after going 0-24 and not signing a single 4 or 5 star prospect.

God do I hate saban.
 
in the words of the greatest freaking coach in the history of the universe 15-17 and a job left unfinished is nothing to be proud of
