I don't care what anybody says and I don't care who flames me. Wanny panicked during the Tennesee game by pulling Fiedler. I'm not going to argue that our offense was horrible with Jay in there, i'm not going to argue that Jay had 2 int's and didn't look good. I will say that Wanny made a bad decision. Had the score of the game been 31-0, I say you pull Fiedler, but the damn score was 7-0 and it wasn't like we didn't score any points against a lame D like the Chiefs, we didn't score any points against a team who was 12-4 last year and has a stellar D (despite them not having to many big names). Wanny panicked big time. This isn't the first time Jay has looked bad, but if Jay would of came back and won us teh game, it wouldn't of the first time he got us a win looking bad. Say what you want, but Wanny made the wrong decision in this particular game (not saying benching Jay was the wrong decision). If he was smart he would of pulled Jay after the game. My opinion is that everyone is overreacting about this loss. You would of thought we lost to the Cardinals on Saturday, not a team who would of been in the Super Bowl had New England not been -20 degrees last year during the playoffs. I'll say like i've said in every post, I support Feely and I hope he tears it up, I just don't agree with Jay's benching in the middle of the game and I don't agree with Jay not starting (at least this early in the season). you guys want to flame me, flame me, but I bleed Dolphins colors and I will support A.J Feely 110 percent. I just don't agree with the way Wanny handled this situation. I was always a big fan of Wanny but after Saturday, i'm starting to understand people's frustrations. Either way, whether Jay or A.J. play all game or one drive all I can say is GO DOLPHINS, Bengals are going down, and we will somehow overcome all of these obstacles and suprise the world. Remember people, only 1 down.................Still 15 to go.

Wannestadt must have been facing unprecedented pressure to pull Jay and put AJ in... You know that the stadium would have upped and left had Fiedler stayed in.. And Wayne H wouldnt have been too happy about that.. If Fiedler stayed the starter after that performance, Wanny might have been fired by Sunday morning..

Agree 100%. I think he should have kept fielder in the game too.

this could be the stupidest thing i ever heard in my life.

Here is the thing. There have been all these reports that the offensive coaches were wanting AJ to be the QB. Dave went against that PROBABLY because of his loyalty to Jay, and with his butt on the line this year, he would rather put the proven mediocre QB in, rather than risk a possible disaster if AJ get nervous and screws up.

Jay was really sucking, and the pressure from his coaching staff probably finally won out during half time. Wayne himself might of made a call to Wannstedt and demanded AJ.

We don't know.

Thing is, AJ came out and made plays. Yea, he threw an INT for a TD, but Jay threw two picks with a lot less pressure on him. Jay had no excuse...they were just poor throws and poor reads.

I am not flaming you, but I disagree with you 100%. AJ Feeley deserves to get his shot, and I would rather we lost that game, and have HOPE for a better QB, then win it with Jay Fiedler giving us the same old crap.

You actually think the remaining fans at the pro would have stuck around to watch Fiedler continue to throw wobbly picks and do his best Ray Lucas imitation?

He wouldn't have overwhelming pressure if Feely had not clearly outplayed Fiedler in the preseason. Fact is, everyone knew Feely had a bigger upside but Wanny still held with "his guy" until he realized Fiedler could not win without the running game.

I won't flame you, fin brother, but I will disagree on a few points. In his press conference Wanny said he pulled Feidler because he wasn't executing the game plan. If the score was 31-0 then you might as well leave Feidler in, the game would have been already lost. He was trying to salvage the game plan BEFORE it was lost. The only reason it wasn't 31-0 was because of the defense which was spending too much time on the field. I believe the move was a strong move by Wanny for which he shouldn't be criticized. Starting Fiedler over Feeley was probably right because they were so close Fiedler's experience put him over the edge, BUT his first half performance was nowhere near the performance necessary for that edge to prevail. As a Dolphins fan I Just Want To Win.

I thought it was a good coaching move. Fiedler KNEW the whole time that he was competing for the starting job. He did well throughout the preseason (like he usually does) then when regular season starts for some reason he goes flat. It was good that Wanny didn't make Jay the permanent starter, like last season by saying, "He's our starting QB.. PERIOD". This time he said, "he will start this week, and we'll go from there."

What I mean is that it's not like the coach threw in the "backup"- because Feeley and Fiedler were competing for the starting job. Maybe they still are..

I'm trying to make sense of your argument. Jay had a half of football and was unable to put a scoring drive on the board for us. He single-handedly made 2 costly TO's and was completely ineffective in this game. His longest completion downfield went for 7 yds (this does not include any of his interceptions or his screen pass to Minor since that was a 3 yd. pass)!!!

Simply put, he was ineffective and starting a new quarter it was necessary to make a change to infuse life into a faltering offense. We didn't win but there was a noticeable difference in the 2nd half with Feeley in. The offense actually moved down the field. If we get that catch by McMichael (which was a 3rd and very long) we have a chance to win this game or at the very least have 2 scoring drives.

For Wanny's F'd up adgenda, he played it perfectly.

If he leaves Jay in and he continues to flounder, Wanny is in trouble with Wayne, the fans, the players, his assistants, etc., and there would be no chance of him allowing Jay to start again.

If he leaves Jay in and Jay pulls out an ugly win, and then Wanny continues to let him start based on that ugly win, he is again in trouble with Wayne and everyone else, and he is just digging his own hole while prolonging the inevitable promotion of AJ... which if he waits too many games to bring AJ in, and AJ then does well, everyone (including Wayne, the fans, etc.) would be like "What's your problem, man? Why didn't you start him sooner?"

Sooooooo, if he brings AJ in for the 2nd half and he tanks, he still has an opportunity to start Jay again down the road because he didn't leave him in too long to make himself look any worse than he already had in the 1st half.

And if AJ pulls out the win, Wanny looks like a genius, and Jay is done.

What happened was that AJ looked pretty good, much better than Jay, but we didn't get the win. So Wanny played it perfectly. He'll start AJ this week, and if it doesn't work, he'll trot Jay back out there... which is only possible because he didn't leave him in there the whole game vs. TEN to make himself look 100% incapable of leading this team anywhere but to a shutout.

Do I agree? No. Feeley shoulda been starting vs TEN, no questions asked, and all of this would be a non-issue because we'd be 1-0.

Whew!

Make Sense?

i cant believe the things i read on this board!!! wanny should have left fiedler in the game?? 4 years man 4 years and they guy has not improved what else is it going to take?? maybe 2 more ints or what?? the guys rating was an 8 for christs sake!!! i cant believe some of you guys that defend this loser!! get over it jay fiedler has not ever been nor will ever be a good quarterback!!! he knows the offense where the hell was the offense against the titans girls??? no pressure on him at all and he overthrows booker and gets picked off in the endzone and absolutley KILLED that drive. the second int there was no pressure at all and he still threw into double coverage i have this game taped if you would like to see it for christs sake!!!! im done venting later!!!

well wanny did what all said to do...i was watching espnews and cbs halftime show of the tenn game and both said to Pull fiedler at the half..so how did Wanny Panicked, when everyone said to do it, i was shocked that they all said that but they did, i said to myself their is no way he would, but he did...you have to understand that wanny is under sooo much pressure right now, that i feel sorry for the guy...it's too bad
