Interesting article from espn.com about wanny and Pitt starting at 0-3. They went into the season as a ranked team with big expectations and he has sent them crashing down. He has to be the worst coach EVER. He has turned their qb into another fiedler with the stupid curl routes for int's and no other offense whatsoever.

Wannstedt, 53, hasn't won a game of any sort in nearly a year. It was Oct. 24, 2004, when his Dolphins beat the St. Louis Rams, 31-14. After two more defeats dropped the Dolphins to 1-8, Wannstedt resigned with his NFL record stuck at 82-86 in 11 years in Chicago and Miami.

Pretty interesting....

This is just the final nail in the coffin of Wanny's coaching career. Karma is rough.

Yeah I don't really know how many more years he's going to be in the coaching ranks. I know these aren't players he recruited etc, but this team was a winner last year and just magically got bad?

God, for the first time, I actually feel kinda sorry for the guy. Is he really that bad of a coach? He was a decent one for a while in his career - did he just forget everything? I know he was never a great HC, but I didn't expect Pitt to go 0-3 under him. Wow!

Puts some perspective on why we were so bad last season, doesn't it. Saban is light years ahead of him!

He's not a bad DC, he's a bad HC because he's not open to the offense making mistakes. He's too close minded and biased to the defensive side. I don't think he'll ever be a good HC now after failing 3 times. He should go back to DC or go to high school ball or something.

I agree...i also think he is very bad with personnell decisions. I think he is really the case where he is just "too nice" of a guy. He doesnt have the heart to give up on guys who cant get the job done.

The only reason he got the Dolphins job was because JJ pushed for him, the guy has zero track record as a a successful head coach...wow, 11 years - the guy milked 3 NFL teams?? Only in America folks...

[edit....2 NFL teams, now one in college]

Agree. I cringed when he was hired. Buddy of mine is a huge Bears fan, he always wanted him fired and couldn't figure out what we were thinking when he got the job.

Damn, for such a great guy, personally, he's really getting pounded. I am really starting to feel bad for him.

Attacking him personally is just plain ignorant. His professional career is tanking and soon will have nowhere else to go.

Here's hoping that he wins a game soon if not just to get that tremendous pressure of of his back.

:shakeno:

What the hell do you say to that.

I, too feel sorry for him.

To a point.

Two words Wanny:

Pop Warner.

I am not sorry at all for Wannstedt. He drove this once proud franchise into the ground (last year was our worst record in our history) and the only reason he was even remotely successful in the years prior was because of the great groundwork set by Shula and Johnson. His personel decisions are even worse (a 2nd for Feeley who is our 3rd string QB currently, a 3rd for Lamar Gordon who we cut the next year). How many busts did he pick in the draft over the years as well? Eddie Moore, Jamar Fletcher, Taylor Whitley?
