Do you think Dave ever thinks about how different his life would be if he would have drafted Drew Brees? I would think it is very feasable if he drafted Drew instead of Jamar "Would you Like Fries With That" Fletcher, he could have a Super Bowl ring, and would still be the coach of the Dolphins. I can not imagine him watching Drew tonight and not letting his mind drift off to this "what if" scenario. I hope it causes him to lose sleep and tears him apart, as the results of his tenure caused us to be 1-15, and a horrible few years to be a Dolphan.

Eddie Moore is probably the one he hears and nightmares about. At least Fletcher was around for a while. It kills me that Smoot was there at that time. Oh well.

Sorry, but Drew Brees is no good at running the football. I doubt he could do the Wannstache minimum 30 carries a game.

Really did we need another thread about D. Brees not being drafted by Miami get over it already he wouldn't have any good WRs to throw to if he was here anyways and we still wouldn't be in the SB this year if he was our QB

Drew Brees doesn't have a Superbowl ring (yet) with New Orleans so I don't see why there is any assumption he would have had one in Miami either. I don't think Miami (in the Wannstedt days) was better coached than New Orleans and the overall talent level wasn't any better than New Orleans' roster.

I think Brees is an extremely good player but also feel he's fallen into exactly the right situation/system for him and that most likely wouldn't have happened for him with Miami. Who's to say he would have enjoyed anything like that level of productivity if he had become a Dolphin, particularly during the Wannstedt era?

Yes, but only because Drew took his team to the Super Bowl last night.

Were you alive in 2002? Jay Feidler was our QB(that should be enough said,) and we missed the playoffs for the first time in 6 season with a 9-7 record. We lost three games by 3 points, and only missed the playoffs by 1 game. Feidler also went down and missed 5 games. Ray Lucas stepped in and lost the next three games pretty much single handedly. Ricky Williams also ran for 1800 yards and 16 TDs that season, so we basicly only needed a QB who was not a liability.

2003 was another year Ricky had a great season and we barely missed the playoffs as we went 10-6 but were on the outside looking in.

My point is we had a great defense, Norv Turner(who has helped make Troy Aikman and Phillip Rivers great QBs,) Ricky Williams, and were an eyelash away from the playoffs with the worst starting QB in the NFL. I have to think Brees would at least have helped us win one more game, so we made the playoffs those two years. Ricky would not get the ball 350 times per season, and probably does not retire(he would still fail a drug test and miss the 2004 season, but Dave would have not been held accountable for that.) Chamber and McMichael would have had a QB that could utilize their big play ability. Gadsen then soon after Welker would have been our possesion guys(Welker most likely does not leave as he would have had a QB.) We would not have wasted the draft picks we traded for Culpepper, Green, and the one we used for Beck. Wanstedt would not have been tossed, and I would have no reason for being so angry, so I hope it eats away at him.
