First: Thank You guys. Thank you for past, present and future support, I know when I joined back in 2001 it was as a lurker and a few years went by before I became hooked on the pofo. When I started posting more, I started noticing a little badge on certain members, well it doesn't doesn't take a monkey to bang to rocks together, Premium members...

I didn't know what premium membership meant back then but I knew I wanted it, and the people who were premium members always seemed to have cooler heads and deeper thoughts than other members. I looked up to you guys, wanted to be one of you. I didnt' know it was invite, but once I found out you guys had to pay to get that badge I set out to get in.

Fast forward a few more year, through adversity, staff changes, site changes, name changes, friends coming and going and coming again, time moves on and nothing remains the same.

But one thing that never changes, Finheaven is still looking to improve. We need suggestions and you guys have been quiet, too quiet, give us some ideas stuff to build on and stuff to think about.

I will mention one change that we can all rejoice in. Finheaven.com is coming back. Coke is going to be Coke again (the kind you drink) Its the name we fell in love with, its the name that everyone knows. Its the "norm" of the dolphins fan sites.

Second we are bringing the front page back, Digging through some archived stuff, downloading as we speak.

We already have some other stuff lined up also that i'd love to share but I don't want to jinx us lol. Never count your chickens before they hatch...

a Photo Album. Where FANS of this site can go and upload their pictures from games they attended. One giant sized PHOTO ALBUM here on Finheaven.

And if people wear Finheaven.com gear and take their picture wearing that Finheaven.com gear at a stadium or game and upload the picture to this PHOTO ALBUM.......they get 3 FREE months of VIP. Or they can give the 3 free months to a friend or another poster here on the site.
 
Advertising IDEA:

A cheap and easy way to help spread the word of Finheaven. This idea probably would work around DRAFT TIME and come August/September when the season starts. Don't use this idea during the offseason it would be a waste.

In the South Florida area I am guessing there are pizza shops. Not the Domino's, Pizza Hut, Little Ceaser chain places. I mean local mom-n-pop pizza shops who fight for their lives against the chains.

Hook up with a few of these mom-n-pop places. Give these pizza shops FREE advertising on THIS website.Let them have adds here, even throw their name on a column. (for example....."The Gambling Corner with Mike Oliva" brought to you by Twin Trees Pizza) In exchange on every pizza box they send out, you have a flyer/paper add taped to the top of the pizza box!! So anyone in the South Floirda/Miami/Ft.Laud area who might have NEVER have heard of thsi site and is probably a Dolphins fan.......would get an add to this site and would maybe bring in new untapped Dolphins fans who have no idea about fan-sites and this place.

I mean make one flyer, zerox a bunch of copies. It's cheap, easy, and costs next to nothing!!
 
I have a suggestion: kill the extremely annoying Circuit City ad that opens up and blocks you from clicking up top when you want to navigate away. Extremely frustrating and not making anybody love this site any more.
 
Phins.com used to have this and had a good list. I am guessing nowadays its outdated and he probably hasn't updated it in years.

Create a list of sportsbars around the country that will air Dolphins games and places where large groups of Dolphins fans will be.

Not everyone has DIRECTV and the SUNDAY TICKET. A lot of people do go to watch games at sports bars. And with the Fins being 1-15 they won't get a lot of National games. They will be that 4th or 5th CBS game with the crappy announcers. So, to be able to view the Fins this day in age most fans without DIRECTV will need to go to a bar.

So, people can here post bars where groups of Dolphins fans go and watch games in groups. Example, if I am a Dolphisn fan in Syracuse, NY and I don't know where to watch a game and I would prefer to watch games with other Dolphins fans. I can come here to thsi site, to this list and see if anyone has put up a bar here in Syracuse that always shows the Dolphins games and where a small (or large) group of Dolphins fans are each week watching the game.
 
Both good suggestions, that ad is a pain in the arse and phins.com's list was a good idea though now it is way out of date. I suppose you could a list of Hooters on there as they seem to be able to show my fins up here in MN.

we had 2 hooters here locally in Upstate NY that just recently closed. They were a good place to watch games. I have the SUNDAY TICKET and don't go to bars anymore for games. But I know most people dont' have the Sunday Ticket and depend on the bars to watch games.

Finding a good Dolphins-bar can be tough. So, a list of places is a good help to the people who need it. Especially the out-of state/non-Florida people in the northeast, west coast, midwest where finding a bar to view games with other Dolphins fans might be a little tough

Good one Mike, I used to check that site out, That is an excellent and useful thing to have and can be continually updated as time goes on. Make it work like wikipedia.

Its really usful when your traveling and have to catch a game out of town.
 
I can tell you we are working on ideas for getting rid of or at least being picky about banners/ads. I know at one time prem members didn't have to put up with ads, that is something else to look into. Thanks for the ideas!
 
You could bring back Post of the Month and offer a free VIP membership. It works on two fronts. On one you will get some really good posts in the main forum and two, it will make VIP that much more attractive because the best posters will all be in VIP

Not a bad idea. Look VIP was hit the hardest with this little thing that took place. It needs to be beefed back up.

There are numerous good message board posters on Finheaven right now in the MAIN FORUM who would be a delight to have in VIP.

At this time, if we let a couple in for FREE, it would probably be smart business. Maybe the week of April 15th (tax week)....7 days, 7 FREE memberships to VIP. Finheaven's REBATE WEEK to the lucky 7 NON-VIP posters. Do a POST OF THE DAY and we give 7 people a year's subscription to VIP. One each day!

Indeed Mike, the other site is still a fraction of the size of this site, but VIP was hit hard........this is a great idea!
 
It also seems Premie was hit pretty hard. Once the VIP gets back up to par, the next step it to start promoting some VIPs to Premie.
