Looking for an early surprise? How about the Miami Dolphins? Nick Saban willed his team to 9-7 last year. If they make a few good moves in the offseason, the playoffs are definitely possible. The staff, with Saban, Mike Mularkey and Dom Capers, is among the best in football

I think they got it a bit wrong though... I have a hard time believing that anyone should be surprised by the 'Phins after the 6 game winning streak (especially since the '06 schedule looks even easier, the 'Phins look even better, and our division rivals look even worse).

13-3 sounds great for this season

no no, 16-0 sounds great for a season, u know it would be awesome to be the only team in history to go undeafeted and do it twice

I know if you really look at the schedule the only real threats are the steelers, colts and you have to put the pats in there. That was the 2005 teams though. A lot has changed this offseason. Colts lost james and a couple key linemen, steelers lost bettis(mostly heart though) and some secondary guys and of course the pats have had THE worst offseason of all the nfl teams. Its looking pretty bright for the phins in 06!!!!

I agree....I think the Phins will have a better season compared to last. One thing that concerns me though, what exactly are the Pats doing? They have done nothing this offseason and no one in that organization is the least bit worried. Now we all know that BB is no idiot, not even a little bit....I just wonder if he is going to pull a rabbit out of the hat or something, he must know that they can't reach the SB with the talent he has left on that team. I guess i am just trying to figure out what his thinking is, is he hoping for a magnificent draft or something?

IMO I think BB was used to FA comeing to him. I think he was just really suprised to see how little intrest his team was drawing from all this years FA. I honestly think that one of the big reasons was us. Everyone knows we are up and comeing and we are only getting stronger! Have you noticed all the visits we have gotten this year compared to last. We had I would say 50% of all FA come through (just a guess). I cant think of anything else. BB is not stupid enough to rely that heavily on the draft.

Interesting point....do you think it had anything to do with money as well? The Pats aren't big on spending top dollars on FA.

Noone can stay on top forever. Even the Roman Empire fell.

That is true, but you have to at least try to improve your talent.....they haven't done that in the offseason at all.

That too is a good point. You never really hear much about the pats signing big name players huh. I think the last some what of a big name would have to be dillon. Then again I dont think he cost them all that much. He really wasnt a premiere back when they got him. dont get me wrong he was good I just dont think really big money good.
