Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive tackle and Bucs legend Warren Sapp was a big part of one of the greatest defenses in NFL history that’s ultimately recognized for their blowout and dominating defensive performance against the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII.
Speaking to Dolphins.com, Sapp spoke about Hickey, a man he knew during his nine seasons with the Bucs, and praised the longtime personnel executive for his front office skills.

Great to hear a former player with a very high opinion of Hickey.

Unfortunately it has to be a fountain of misinformation like Warren Sapp.
 
well, when tony dungy spoke highly of hickey, i heard a lot of "tony dungy thinks everybody is the awesomest thing ever" in an effort to disparage the hire. now we have someone that has absolutely no problem calling a tool a tool speaking highly of hickey. not only wouldn't sapp have said "no comment" if he didn't like hickey, we would have heard every single reason why, in detail.
 
Yea..I'll wait and make up my own mind about Hickey...Praise from Warren Sapp is just kind of meh!!
 
OK, now I really question Hickey, because Sapp is one of the biggest douchenozzles around...

I agree. Sapp doesn't give a hoot what you think, he'll give you the real. Makes this praise hold much more value IMO.
 
Hickey has the resume for this job. 18 years of basically growing up around football and scouting college players. Just have to see how he does now. It is all unknown and we will find out soon. I will reserve judgement until I see this years draft and how the season plays out with those rooks.

Sapp is Sapp, but I find nothing wrong with what he said here.

“Dennis was there and definitely in the front office picking some good players, building a championship roster. He was just a quiet guy. And hey, they always say the quiet ones are the ones you need to worry about.”

“We had great draft picks, we had great personnel decisions that we made. Bringing Simeon (Rice) in put us over the top as a defensive front. We made some good personnel decision no doubt about. I don’t know how much Dennis had to do with that, but he was in the room. Hopefully it rubs off on the Dolphins because I like what the Dolphins are doing.”

“I love that defense, love that defense. Cameron Wake and (Jared) Odrick, and big Randy Starks. They need to sign that monster back too. Then you get Dion Jordan in there and you have a nice little mix of young and old and ornery guys. They’re good guys and that’s what you want. You want a good mix like Seattle has.”

Well then that settles it. If Warren Sapp says he's ok then I guess he's ok.:rolleyes2:

I'm sure the U fans on here will drink his koolaid but I think he's douche that is certainly entitled to his own opinion. I'm going to make up my own mind once I see the moves that Phiblin and Aponte allow him to make.

Agreed..but he did have personal ties with him being around him for a substantial amount of years not to mention Hickey did evaluate and help bring in some serious players that helped the Bucs get a super bowl and one of the best defences in history.
 
the fanz around here are starting to make jets fans look like rhodes scholars.

the depth people are going to with their hatred af a guy who possess EVERYTHING we need is just sad. its flat unbelievable!!

its a phenomenon. it really is. wanny didnt get this type of HATRED when he came here, and he had NO success where he came from. ZERO!!

now, we have a guy who was nothing but successful at everything he did with the bucs and people want to tar and feather him and run him out of town.

now everyone who says anything good in the nfl about hickey has no credibility. or he is scum, or trash, etc... .

i think i am at the point where i wish ceserio or farmer would have got the job, to give all the heartache the fans deserve for years and allow dennis hickey to go to a team that had a deserving fan base.

and i am not picking on FH as its EVERYWHERE , like some spore from outer space got into fans bodys and now their these super, mindless, tunnel vision hickey haters controlled by an evil space mutant disguised as the sports media!!!! total science fiction type phenomenon!!!! and their minds are so controlled and week that even after all the lies the media said about hickey and the ross and how the organization was set up, the fans are STILL REPEATING IT!! still using it to discredit dennis hickey!!

if the fans want to know why the fins have become a laughing stock, dont look at ross.
