was beck a wasted draft pick?

after one full year and another training camp under his belt i cant help but wonder did cam really grasp for straws on a 26 year old rookie qb .we were allready in a bad position due to throwing away recent draft picks , then we use a high pick to grab a kid in the second round.beck should have been drafted in the 4th or 5th round on age alone .i dont care if the next team on the clock wanted him because that would mean to me they were just a stupid as we are..please explain how a 26 year old can be the future of a franchise when it takes at least 2 or 3 years to get him playing like a true leader of a football team .please explain why he was the best pick for us at that stage of the draft.

beck may be here at the end of this season but i would not bet the farm that he makes it to the start of the next season

Yeah we already know Josh McCown sucks, but the jury is still out for Beck, A young QB takes a little more time than just 4 regular season games, come on give the guy a break...he was a rookie for crying out loud...you must have very high expectations for rookies.

It took Drew Brees like 2 or 3 season before he finally got use to the NFL.

Give it time, and if he doesnt work out we still have Chad Henne
 
If he is a wasted pick that is one of many 2nd round picks wasted on a QB's.

ANSWER - YES!
Lets see,No arm,No wheels,and has shown us absolutly NOTHING to prove he can lead our team.Not to mention he has No affiliation with our current coaching staff.

Still too early to tell. Not the most satisfying answer, but the most accurate one.

bro you have always been one of my favorite reads i must say you know your stuff,but on this subject i am not i aggreament with you .a 26 year old rookie qb is a wasted pick evn if he turned out to be brees he would be what 31 or 32 just hitting his prime i cant see ho thats the future:shakeno:
 
For one thing how can anyone call last year 1 full year? I don't know if he even got a fair shot at all, besides when you have the worst head coach in the league who couldn't make a smart decision to save his***! After o-6 there is know way anyone but beck should of been behind center IMO!
Wasted pick= Don't know yet!
Age= Big Deal!
Round= Didn't hear anyone say he wasn't worth a 2nd round pick!
 
gerrard sat for how many seaons and he is the exception to the rule.how did chris wenke turn out lol

Hes got an arm, actually hes got a cannon for an arm. Didnt u see that 60 yarder he threw in college. He can definately hurl the ball 40+
