Cuz that means the O would look different with Bradshaw...if we signed him

If I'm not mistaken, I heard a report where we didnt even make an offer, despite hearing it was pretty much a done deal. He might have been, but the price was likely too high back then, and Ireland didn't want to risk waiting for Bradshaw to decide between resigning or going with the Fins, and miss out on Bush in the process.

I think the plan was always to add a scatback of sorts (basically, to make Henne's checkdowns have positive play potential). Maybe they figured Bradshaw could be that as well as a more traditional back. Based on where this offense seems to be going, Bush seems to be the better choice (more dynamic/explosive), but it does make you wonder whether Bush was plan A or B. When I think about it, Bush is more of a risk (with his injury history), which makes me think Bradshaw was the plan A because he was a safer bet.

my understanding was deangelo williams was the guy we wanted most til he priced himself out of our range in carolina...then we got out of the bradshaw race too early but maybe he never wanted to leave in the first place and then we went the reggie bush route

But it's kind of a weird strategy right? Apples and oranges. Those first two guys are complete backs and can shoulder 20 carries a game. Bush is a scatback/receiver/returner type of guy. I don't see how you replace your desire for a Williams or a Bradshaw with a Bush.

i don't think bradshaw or williams are guys you want to give the rock to 20 carries a game...they're fire and ice type combo backs...thats why the williams money was nuts if you ask me...way high but they did what they had to do to keep him and they had plenty of money to spend...imo had williams or bradshaw come here we still might has seen some interest in another 3rd down back like a sproles or something...

i think bush was plan c...but its only a 2 year investment...we can get out with our noses clean pretty easily if he doesn't work out...i think that played into it too...how much risk we willing to assume going forward

i sure hope these guys don't plan to run bush like williams or bradshaw...it will never work

Im definately glad we did not go out and get Bradshaw . Just wished we did not wait so long to take a back or drafted Ingram. Kind of funny we may be starting the back that Ingram took the place of

im happy with getting reggie. we didnt give much up, and got a damn good player imo. low risk high reward imo

Sproles has that honor...

Im not understanding why Bradshaw keeps coming up. Do you guys realize he wanted about 8-9 million/year in free agency.

Besides, if Bush can stay healthy all year, he is better than Bradshaw anyways. Bradshaw is overrated

bradshaw has really bad fumble problems but is around the same size as reggie but reggie is a better receiver... we took that into consideration.. reggie will be our danny woodhead, who might i add made the pats that much more dynamic without a true number one runningback..

bradshaw got 4 years $18 mil $9 mil guaranteed...in todays nfl market that was an absolute bargain for the g men

Thanks for nothing guys you still haven't answered my question...I want to know If Bush was plan B...it would just make me feel a whole lot better that we went in free agency targeting Bush as priority number 1...So was Bradshaw just a rumor? And we wanted bush all along?
