Was I right or wrong? I wanted to draft Aaron Rodgers instead of Ronnie Brown.

Was I right or wrong? I think we should have drafted Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers = Joe Montana with a stronger arm?

Rodgers is supposed to be very mobile and has a better arm than Montana ever did. He has gotten praise from every draft expert I have heard/read. Up until a week or two ago I didn't even think we had a shot at him at #2 overall. I assumed SF would take him at #1. Now with all of these new mocks coming out and several having the 49ers taking Alex Smith at #1,I am not so sure that we shouldn't take him. I was certain that if Miami couldn't trade down we should take Derrick Johnson. If Aaron Rodgers is available at #2 I think we need to take a long hard look at drafting him.

Joe Montana - 6'2'' 200 lbs
Aaron Rodgers - 6'2'' 220 lbs

Pretty similar. Rodgers definately has the stronger arm of the two.

Anyone that watched the Monday Night Game saw Aaron Rodgers outplay Brett Favre. That kid is amazing. He was running for his life the entire game and still threw for almost 400 yards and damn near came back and won it. That interception Favre threw in the endzone should have stood.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ronnie Brown, but Aaron Rodgers is a top 5 QB in the NFL right now. No way we have those disaster years with Rodgers at the helm.

I said it then and I'll say it now, I think Aaron Rodgers = Joe Montana with a stronger arm.

What do you all think?

If we're going to play the "I wanted" or "What if games" then I wanted Miami to get Brees instead of Culpepper and we would currently have a top 3 QB and the great Ronnie Brown.

The only reason why you are wrong is because this franchise would have ruined the minute we got him. He's had the benefit of learning behind Farve for years. Not to mention the fact he simply had a better team around him. He would've simply failed miserably in my opinion here with the lack of talent, coaching and consistency.

We propably wouldnt have developed him properly and rushed him to play and he would have stunk and his career would be over now :( really drastic huh? :)

Unless you are some kind of psychic though there was no way to know he if was going to pan out. He was a work in progress for GB for quite a while. So as far as value goes so far we have more from RB. There have been tons of mistakes after the fact, but the truth is you can't go back and lets just move on with what we have. Could of had Brees, Rodgers, and Ryan.

Four years later Rodgers looks ok in a loss...I KNEW IT, DAMMIT, I KNEW WE SHOULD HAVE PICKED HIM!!

I told you so threads are one thing but this just takes the cake...

He is definately a top 5 QB in the NFL wouldn't you agree?
Definitely? Eh, not so sure about that. He is definitely on the upper side of the league, but there are at least five other quarterbacks I would take over him.

Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, and Ben Roethlisberger quickly come to mind.

Ronnie I do believe is a top 5 running back and currently is third on the rushing list. Is he the third best running back? Maybe not, but I do think he is top 5.

I don't know man. You may be right, but I really think the great QBs will always stand out, no matter the circumstances. Great QB's make their entire team better. Good QBs need a decent supporting cast.

Aaron Rodgers was pretty much a one-man-show Monday night. Even though the Packers lost, Rodgers should have no problem holding his head high as he walks out of the Vikings' stadium.

His first full year starting last season he threw for over 4000 yards/28 TDs/13 INT/4 rushing TDs.

What's not to like?

If we had a stable front office and coaching staff, maybe he would have been productive to our team. But putting a young quarterback through 3 different head coaches. He would have had the Alex Smith career.

I think Rodgers is better than Eli and Ben for sure.

IMO:

1.) Peyton Manning
2.) Tom Brady
3.) Drew Brees
4.) Aaron Rodgers
5.) Brett Favre - have to give him the props, he played great Monday.

based on relative draft evaluations, actually not as right as if you had wanted Ware@11 or Merriman @12......or if we're going that deep, Roddy White who went at 27!

...and if I was right when I wanted Willis instead of Quinn? If so, what do I win?

Aaron is a great QB, I tell you something, I like to see P.Manning and Brady behind the Packers line, and lets see how they go.

Sorry the bad english
