Was it a stupid wager?

Don't worry, you did fine, many people are just going on the Jets bandwagaon because ofwhat they did in the playoffs last year, but they are not the same team, they were last year, and if all the people actually did do some research on how dominant the Jets really were in the regular season, they would have seen more times then not, they were on a very thin line in many games, just barely winning, and needing something to happen in each of those games.

Jets:
Losing Edwards was huge for the Jets, and the yards per pass will prove that for Sanchez, team's will start to dare the Jets to beat them deep by playing closer to the LOS to play the run, and the Jets did lose a few pieces of thier defense from last year, so at best, they will be just as good.

Dolphins:

Miami basically went with speed this off-season, so they will be a more vertical attack team then years past, and if it works, more runs will open up for Miami. I believe Miami's O-line will be better this year, and Miami's defense with some new and better talent in some areas will be even better then last year.

Don't get too nervous, I think Miami will do as well or better then the Jets this year.

Its a good fan bet. Should make things a but more fun through the year for u. You should get a Vontae Davis jersey.

Hell no its not a bad bet. Never back down from those bums. I woulda made the same wager if I had the chance(partly due to the fact that ive already made a similar bet with a Bills fan friend lol). Somebody has to win, why not us. Its just division rivalry at its finest.

I bet my buddy (huge jets fan) that the mans team who has a worse record buys the other a team jersey of the other to present at the end of season.

1. Was it a mistake to feel the fins could win this for me?

2. Which Jersey should I get (My Brown Jersey is worthless now lol)

1. Yes

You broke Rule #1 in sportsbetting which is never bet with emotion. I'm sure the homers on here will lead you to believe that you made a good bet and that it will all get turned around and BS blah blah blah BS BS. The truth of the matter is Chad Henne ****ing sucks and we are looking at 7-8 wins. Taking this bet at EVEN odds was bad. The Jets are better than we are.

jets will be 8-8 at best. they have no rt, lg is garbage. they have a wr that hasnt been in the league in 2years and an old man in mason. sanchez doesnt have the weapons to pull **** out of his *** anymore

damn sounded like us until u got to receiver. no RT , G garbage, I guess u could replace qb with the wr comment

I would say your friend has the advantage but in the NFL u never know. I could see both teams not making playoffs this year not predicting it. I think San Diego makes playoffs so that may have Jets at home. New england is gonna win the diviision I have no doubt of that

Get a clue its not like he dropped a dime on Miami to win the Superbowl.

You should have just bet who would win the series between the 2 teams, we seem to have the upper hand vs the jets. They will def end up with a better record :/ not being negative, but unless Henne finally becomes a real NFL QB or Moore comes outta now where n becomes a pro bowler we will prob go 7-9 again.

F THAT! If freaking MARK SANCHEZ can bring the Jets within a stone's throw of the Super Bowl, so can Henne. If they offered me Mark Sanchez for Henne straight up -- I wouldn't take it.

It doesn't matter whether it was a dime, or a jersey wager, or 5 bucks. If the question is whether or not it was a bad bet, then the answer is--it was a bad bet. Putting a "dime" on Miami to win the SuperBowl isn't nearly the same thing since that wouldn't be at EVEN odds. It would actually be at long shot odds. Around 60-1 odds actually.

There is a smart way to bet with your heart. But it takes a delicate hand. For example, in a fantasy football league, it's a good strategy to pick players from opposing teams in your division, because if your team sucks, then it's likely that they will have good games against your team and win you fantasy points...or the reverse will happen and your team will be really good and you won't give a crap about fantasy points. For example, as a Dolphins fan, it's a good strategy to draft Tom Brady, the Jets defense, Santonio Holmes, Fred Jackson, etc... That gives you 6 fantasy games in which either your favorite team or your fantasy team should win and in either scenario you're happy.

ehhh...i took the jets at 10-1 superbowl odds in vegas for a grand...took the saints at 15 to 1 and the ravens at 15 to 1 also

That's a very solid bet on the Saints. But I would be extremely surprised if the Ravens bet paid off. That team is aging and Flacco just isn't good enough. The Bucs are on an upswing but they're probably at least another year away from contention. I'd be higher on the Falcons if their linebackers and secondary were better, but that team has some serious talent.

I'm not a homer, but I definitely don't think the Jets are any better. Rooting against them the last two years, they won a lot of close games because of the studs in their WR corps. They brought back Holmes, but none of their other receivers really impress me.

This is why I don't play fantasy football. When my favorite team loses a game, no amount of fantasy points are going to console me.
