I think that most of the board, myself included, was (and still is in some cases) mainly just frustrated at the time of the picks and up until today that the Dolphins didn't pick the guy they wanted. Now that time has passed, I'm starting to see more and more things I like about the draft class.
I think the Dolphins got two REALLY good corners. Vontae will probably push for a starting job earlier because of his aggression and athleticism, but Sean will be the man for Miami in a year or two. How many other corners (except Nnamdi Asomugha) can match up with Randy Moss physically on the line and have the athleticism to stay with him (for the most part)? Not too many. Smith is going to be a great one.
While I and a lot of others thought it was too early to pick Pat White, how many players available then offer that much versatility? Maybe Connor Barwin, but nobody else is guaranteed to play their first year and allow us to run so many different systems. It's a luxury pick, but you are assured he's going to contribute from day 1.
The FO seems really high on Turner, and for that I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. And they picked up really good role players in Clemons and Gardner later. Nalbone has the attributes to be a steal, especially after next year.
Here's hoping that they hit on a couple of UDFA's like last year.
I'm excited, but still mad they passed on Jarrett Dillard
