Im A Little Woried That Jake Was Picked More Along The Lines Of Needs Than Bpa. I Think That Could Wind Up Bighting Us In The Long Run If He Was Not Bpa

The only guy I think may have been a better player is Glen Dorsey but he doesn't fit our system so it's a moot point. Other than that, I think he was the best player available.

Man what do you mean, that's why tou picks players...because of need, they needed a OT stop worrying abou every little the fins make.

I mean it really doesn't matter if he was the BPA or the 3rd BPA (I only had Dorsey ahead of him).

If you have 2 Pro Bowl tackles signed . . . then u don't take Jake, even if he is BPA . . . need has to be factored in when considering a top pick. If your Cincy . . . u don't take Matt Ryan when u have Carson Palmer.

We have needed a LT like Long for a long long time. Its about time we had a front office that gets it. Unlike alot of phin fans who ussually go for the hyped up skill positions who often have character or injury issues or some kind of flaw. Jake was absolutely the best long term pick for this franchise. Tahnks Bill! I love you man!

I admit Long is not the sexy pick.... we all know that the OL needed attn..... Long is the safest pick and honestly a good pick...... if we trade the pick on draft day ...i wont get into that..... not the player i wanted but happy with the pick BP has done a great job so far

Is there anything wrong with drafting one of the best players available at one of our key need positions. Don't afraid. be happy someone was hired in our front office who can actually make a good decision. Now thats scary isn't it!

BPA (for the dolphins)

it's important to add that last part, because how a playe fits your team is as important as their talent level.

Dorsey may have very well been the best player in the draft....but likey doesn't fit what the Dolphins want to do on defense....thus, he's not on top of our board.

i think both hands down. chris long is a distant second IMO but belongs on a 4-3 team.

We probably drafted for need but none of the top players really stuck out so why wouldn't we draft for need?

If he plays like a franchise LT and gives our young offense time to operate and help their development and confidence, it doesn't matter. We got a corner stone player at a postion we really needed. Great pick, especially for the position were in with regards to personnel at certain positions.

What I am laughing at is where are the people that said "Jake Long doesn't want to be a Dolphin?" I know it was a rumor, a bad one at that, but it was funny how people ran with that. To see Jake act very professional and humble at the news conference was very good to see.
