An interview earlier today. Marc Malusis was talking to an insider with the Wolverines, some guy named Webb, didn't remember his first name.
He said Michigan is really putting all their eggs in Harbauagh's basket trying to land him. He felt it 60/40 that he comes to Michigan and if he does come he'll be forever loved for turning the program around. He said though that Jim's ultimate goal though was to win a SB, and it was his goal even when he played for the Wolverines and he's the most insane competitive person that he's ever been around. The goal of the SB quest could be enough to turn down that money to stay in the NFL. He also said Harbaugh had some harsh words for Michigan back in 07 when he was coaching Stanford and said their were some people in the program who still had a problem with that. And he also threw in that Harbaugh was in his glory being in the big game and knowing he got so close how could he go back to recruiting.
Who knows what Harbaugh will choose, but that SB quest alone may be the key here. Also, he's been offered an insane amount of money knowing full well he's out in SF and hasn't responded yet. Not sure if he's allowed to respond being under contract but figuring the Wolverines made the offer he's probably allowed and hasn't. I'm thinking he's gonna hold out for the same amount if not more to stay in the NFL.
I'm sorry but I don't see him in NY. Ok, the Raiders need direction on the field, but they also need direction and stability from the front office and they've failed at it for years. They'd have to offer him the farm. Or maybe he would love to work across the bay just to stick it to the 49ers.
At at first I didn't think Miami would be a player in this at all, but I'm starting to feel different. I don't think Ross will be outbid by anyone if he wants him bad enough. I'm starting to feel there has been some dialogue behind the scenes between the two camps and Ross is waiting for the season to end to do it right this time around.
Hey listen, Ross wanted him once so bad he made a fool of himself and Sporano. If he still wants him and you gotta believe he does, it won't matter if the Fins win the last two games 98-0, he will go full force after Harbaugh.
