An interview earlier today. Marc Malusis was talking to an insider with the Wolverines, some guy named Webb, didn't remember his first name.

He said Michigan is really putting all their eggs in Harbauagh's basket trying to land him. He felt it 60/40 that he comes to Michigan and if he does come he'll be forever loved for turning the program around. He said though that Jim's ultimate goal though was to win a SB, and it was his goal even when he played for the Wolverines and he's the most insane competitive person that he's ever been around. The goal of the SB quest could be enough to turn down that money to stay in the NFL. He also said Harbaugh had some harsh words for Michigan back in 07 when he was coaching Stanford and said their were some people in the program who still had a problem with that. And he also threw in that Harbaugh was in his glory being in the big game and knowing he got so close how could he go back to recruiting.

Who knows what Harbaugh will choose, but that SB quest alone may be the key here. Also, he's been offered an insane amount of money knowing full well he's out in SF and hasn't responded yet. Not sure if he's allowed to respond being under contract but figuring the Wolverines made the offer he's probably allowed and hasn't. I'm thinking he's gonna hold out for the same amount if not more to stay in the NFL.

I'm sorry but I don't see him in NY. Ok, the Raiders need direction on the field, but they also need direction and stability from the front office and they've failed at it for years. They'd have to offer him the farm. Or maybe he would love to work across the bay just to stick it to the 49ers.

At at first I didn't think Miami would be a player in this at all, but I'm starting to feel different. I don't think Ross will be outbid by anyone if he wants him bad enough. I'm starting to feel there has been some dialogue behind the scenes between the two camps and Ross is waiting for the season to end to do it right this time around.

Hey listen, Ross wanted him once so bad he made a fool of himself and Sporano. If he still wants him and you gotta believe he does, it won't matter if the Fins win the last two games 98-0, he will go full force after Harbaugh.

60/40 he will go to Michgian? I hate when reporters use that sort of verbage basically saying they don't know jack ****.

I don't think Harbaugh is leaving the NFL, he's come so close to the Superbowl and I don't think he wants to go to a Michigan program that is still a few years away from really competing, even in the big 10...

I think dolphins actually are the front runner in the Harbaugh race, up to ross to bag him...

I think Harbaugh will go wherever he wants, no hard sell is needed. If Harbaugh picks Miami all Ross needs to do is give in to his demands. If it comes out that Harbaugh turned Ross down again I'll just chalk it up to he was using us as leverage and nothing more. No need to flip out over it.

This is a ****ing roller coaster....

ALL i know is this:

Harbaugh was so close to the SB victory....he has to have that BURNING desire. Every single practice, meeting, and game is with the SOLE purpose of winning a SB...he has to want it BAD.

If he goes back to college thats THE END of his NFL career...he isnt going back to Michigan to turn the program around and leave it after hes made it a year after year success.

He will pick the team HE WANTS....$ will not be an issue now that Michigan has made him a huge offer. All NFL teams will have to meet that minimum. He will get enough no matter where he goes. He will choose based on the roster...PERIOD.

---------------------------------------------------

With all that being said...if he chooses the ****ing Raiders or Jets over Miami then we should all hang up the jerseys and admit our team is ****. There is no reason he should pick those 2 over us. We have a FAR better QB, better WRs, and a better D.

Will the offseason PLEASE GET HERE!??

I think it still may come down to his wife and what she wants. If she does not want to leave the bay area then we are out of the equation.

Some people might like Carr the prospect more than Tannehill the prospect. And it might actually be a draw going to a place that doesn't have a QB at all right now, a clean slate, like the Jets.

Maybe its just me but I don't see the allure of UM or any CFB team right now with open coaching gigs. I understand its your alumni but realistically you're not going to be on top any time soon with Saban and Jimbo running CFB.

Today at a press conference, Jim said his only focus is San Diego and the game on Saturday night... After that, he'll be focusing on Arizona... He wants to win both of those game and for right now (meaning the next two weeks I presume) he is stay'n put...

Ross won't say a thing to anyone until after the season..... That being said Ross didn't get to be a billionaire by being stupid. I'm absolutely sure he will put feelers out to the Harbaugh camp before he attempts anything publicly.

Harbaugh isn't going to Michigan. This isn't the seventies. The dynamics have changed in CFB. Big Ten football isn't a sufficiently large stage for someone of Harbaugh's ego. Does he want to recruit? Does he want the uphill struggle of recruiting against Sun Belt teams in the SEC, ACC, Pac-12? Is he going to cede the biggest achievements to his brother? Can you see Harbaugh, a man that's spent the last 2 decades in California, the last decade in a part of the country with one of the highest living standards on earth, going back to Ann Arbor for nostalgia? I just don't see Harbaugh being happy coaching in the desolate obscurity of Lincoln, Nebraska; Iowa City or Happy Valley after he's been on the biggest stage.

Logically...The Dolphins make the most sense....if his wife doesn't want to leave the west coast why would she OK Cold Michigan?

So really the Raider's are the only team that meets the geographical requirements...but its not nearly as good a situation as Miami as far as pieces in place.

I think Ross makes a splash and gets this done.

I do think Jim has to win that Superbowl to equal his brother...and Miami may now be the best vehicle to get there quickly.

I don't think Harbaugh wants to go back to the college. I think he may prefer the NFL.

The only thing that bothers me is that we're associated with the off-season "Darling" again. It's like dating a girl who everyone is kissing too.

I'd like to hear more serious consideration on other candidates from the media. Harbaugh is intriguing. He's the new "it" guy. But I'm not necessarily convinced he's the best option for this team.

Sam Webb. If you really want to follow the story keep up-to-date with him. His connections are deep in the AD at Michigan. Bottom line is that this is not about money. Jim is going to get paid regardless of where he lands. He's more than just alum at Michigan. He has deep ties to the community and labels it his favorite place growing up. His dad Jack was a coach on Bo Schembechler's staff and had a very close relationship with him.

Sam is the cautious optimist of the insiders as many put the odds as high as 90/10. Personally, I don't think he will select Michigan. A guy as insanely competitive as he is will want to succeed at the highest level and that is the NFL. Of the locales in the NFL you have to put the Raiders at the top. Rumors are out there that Mark Davis will allow Jim to bring in his own GM (Tom Gamble) which is something he wants. Ross will have to make the same offer and hope that Jim views the Dolphins roster as more favorable for success. For those thinking that his wife wanting to stay in the Bay area that is incorrect. He is seriously considering a move to Ann Arbor so there is no reason to think he wouldn't move south. Additionally, insiders at Michigan say that location won't be a factor.

Right now, Michigan is the only dog in the fight but come Black Monday, Oakland will join the fracas (based on the assumption SF opens the door to trading). Keep in mind that if SF does trade him SF may not agree to send him to Oakland and Jim may not agree to where they want to send him. Its going to be an interesting 11 days.

If it weren't for the whole being under contract thing it would be almost a certainty he stays in the NFL but there is always the possibility this gets ugly and both sides get bullheaded.
