What people forget is that without our FO's genius move to ship JT out to Washington, we wouldn't even have been looking at the pick anyway.
Yes, he's a luxury, yes, we took him high but we earned a luxury pick by shipping a player out for a year when we'll probbaly sign him back a year later anyway.

Viva la Parceland.

put this in the official Pat White thread .

I'd say No. I live in MA and listen to sports talk radio on my way to work and the guys were ticked that miami took Pat White. They wanted him on the pats and were hoping he would slip to them in the late 2nd.

They actually thought the Patriots were going to take them with their first pick in the 2nd round and were raving about it being a good pick then. So I guess it depends on who you ask.

how is it a reach when he was predicted to go in the 2nd round?

and he went to the team that runs the wildcat, and he's the perfect weapon for the wildcat.

what is the problem?

the problem is mad people on here get pissy and hate on the people we drafted because their favorite college player or the one they would have drafted didnt get drafted. so then they think everyone else is dumb for not agreeing with them. funny how it turns out they arent draft experts and if they were they would be making the big bucks like the ones do now

Really, our entire draft is a matter of perception. ESPN said we reached a lot, but NFLN loved almost every pick we made.

to be honest i think nfln loved our picks in the draft just because its a safe bet to say what parcells did was right

they also look at how the players fit the team they are going to, and not where they (the analysts) have players ranked.

ESPN spent most of the time talking about how great the Patriots are because they kept trading for more picks when in all honesty, they did not draft a single starter IMO. They got 3 decent round 2 picks in Brace,Butler, and Chung but each is gonna be burried on the depth chart for a couple years. (Chung behind Sanders,Williams and Merriweather. Brace behind Wilfork, Butler behind Bodden,Springs, Wheatley, and Whilite). THe rest of their draft was filled with just as many so called reaches as we had.

IMO we came out of this draft with at a minimum....a starting cb who I think will be a shut down corner in 2010. A possible #2 cb in Smith, a great project that could be a huge benefit.

Pat White....one guy changed the look of our offense and made it much more dynamic. If this guy were 3 inches taller he would have been a 1st rd. qb....but he is a threat to score with his legs or arm every time he gets the ball. No more blitzing the wildcat or White will throw if over their head. This kid threw better than anybody at the combine.

Anyone else that works out in just a bonus and it will be another great draft by the end of next season imo. Everyone bashing our draft will be singing a different tune next yr.

Every so-called expert has a different opinion and different projections on players. The subscription board I look at had Pat White as a first round selection at the WR posistion. Basically said any team that passed him up would be slapping themselves in the future.
Same board had Vonte Davis as the number 1 CB. Sean Smith as a 2nd round pick and future #1 CB.
Chris Clemmons projected 3rd round but called him a sleeper pick

Yes, he was a reach, and it was a bad pick. We already have a quarterback of the future in Henne, and the spread offense doesn't work in the NFL. I don't get it.
