There's something that has been bugging me for a while now and I want to know what you guys think. Although I agree that as of now, Ginn was a reach a #9, but what about Brown? I mean sure the guy is talented but it seems that anytime someone in here says anything bad about him he gets throw in the dirt. Anyways here are his career stats. (I didnt put in 2007 because he didnt play enough to take anything fromit...)

year-games-rush-rec-td-fl
2005-15-907-232-5-4
2006-13-1008-276-5-2
2008-16-916-254-10-1

Now thats an irrefutable argument right there! Good job!

I personally dont think any player in that draft was worth more than the fifth overall pick. That being said someone has to be drafted. Brown in any many other drafts is a mid to low first round pick. It just depends on the depth, quality and the way the draft falls. He has done much better than many drafted around him so in that respect the answer is yes. He is not the impact player that most expect when you take a guy that high but most of the time the player never lives up to that lofty draft position.

As for initially , I say no because I have nver seen anyone do so little in college to get drafted that high.

As was stated previously, he was the best choice for us in that position. Worth where he was drafted? Not with his production so far he wasn't, but, again.....Definitly the right pick in our position bracket.

Yep, he has preformed than any other player taken in the top five of that year's draft.
Better than Alex Smith
Better than Braylon "20 drops in 2008" Edwards
Better than Cedric Benson
Better than Cadillac Williams
Remember all the Ronnie v. Cadillac debate after year one. Looks like we won that argument now.

This gets brought up every year during every off season and i think that depending on the season the answer changes every year. I think it was a weak draft so him going that high might not have happened another year. Is he L.T. in his prime? No but he's going into a contract year this season and i think he's going to have a brake out year.

well it helps the debate that Caddy has never recovered from injury. Amazing that debate got tossed pretty quickly when Gore has easily became the best back in that draft and Brandon Jacobs and Marionn Barber are pretty close to brown at this point.

I remember it, and I was saying even then, even without homerglasses that RB was clearly the best out of all of them. Obviously we know who won in that sweepstakes.

Yeah....But I think most everyone has admitted that Gore was a huge surprise that NOBODY saw comeing.

I thought about it for a little bit, but in the end I have to say: Yes. Look at a lot of the other picks in the Top 10 of that Draft.

1. QB Alex Smith - Bust
3. WR Braylon Edwards - Has had one good season, but has been a bit of headcase
4. RB Cedric Benson - Bust
5. RB Cadillac Williams - Injury Bust
6. CB Pacman Jones - Bust that belongs in lockup
7. WR Troy Williamson - Bust
8. CB Antrel Rolle - Eventually found a home at FS
9. CB Carlos Rogers - He's had decent career
10. WR Mike Williams - UBER BUST

Looking back it wasn't a very strong Top 10, and when you look at the versatility Ronnie gives a team, how can you not say he wasn't worth the #2 overall pick? In fact, Ronnie was more than just worth the #2 overall pick. He was the RIGHT PICK. Prick Saban didn't do a lot of things right in Miami, but at least he got it right with Ronnie Brown.

wouldnt say edwards one season was good it was a great season. 80 receptions and 16 tds. right now its between Ronnie and Brylon as to who will be better. I still think its quite debateable. The funny thing is when all is said and done cedric Benson might actually turn out to be the best of that top 5 if he revives his career in Cinncy.

I don't think there was anyone else to pick. The franchised picked him because they thought that he was the best player available.
