I didn't see replay and hear announcers, was it a onside. It had to be how could he miss a kick off that bad. Anyway glad it didn't backfire if it was onside kick. Pretty gutsy call considering we were owning them on defense. The kicking team must have seen something.

From what the announcers said it just went off the side of his foot. I believe that's probably what happened, especially considering the way Sparano had his ***.

so you guys are saying he missed a kickoff? thats actually kind of funny... i for one am not really big on the carpenter worship that goes on here.

you gotta love that we have a HC who chews *** when a player messes up....not to belittle that player, but to teach him...

I thought it was an onside kick....no way he shanked it?????

Carpenter has been great. Fourteen straight before the miss from a first year kicker. I'll take that anytime.

He did miss on the kickoff however. Sparano chewed his ear big time. Probably not the best move. Leave the kicker alone to deal with his mistakes. No one is kicking Dan any harder than he is kicking himself tonight.

The kid has done a great job this season

i agree with you, i'm not saying he isn't doing well. i saw that he hit a 50 yarder today which is great but i still have some reservations about his leg strength myself. we have had some great kickers down here in miami so its gonna take more than one clutch kick to prove himself to me thats all.

I agree, but I gotta admit he earned my confidence with that 50 yarder today. He just now earned my pro bowl vote, and considering that I may be the biggest homer here, thats saying something. Now I am confident in saying that he most definatly does not suck.

go back and look at the replay.. sparano was yelling at him for risking the onside with that kind of a lead.... carpenter took a chance and kicked it to the left when he saw the pre-kickoff read.. go fish

yeah cuz there's nothing special about 14 straight FG's :rolleyes2:

personally, i've stated it is only my opinion, but he is not an upgrade over the player who previously held his position on our roster. i understand dan is younger and less expensive, but last year we got great production from our kicker and the kickoffs are not much different...that is all i'm saying.

yea but that kicker had a big contract and a bigger mouth...and did i mention he was a kicker with those 2 things?

i agree though, Carpenter has a good leg, he has to improve his kick off distance
