In Seattle we looked the most prepared we have in a long time, on defense for the most part and the offense did move the ball. So our coaching hires looked somewhat sound.
In New England both our offense and defense looked horrible that first half and the second half our offense took off and the defense continued to get run over.
Cleveland was just not good at all outside possibly special teams.
So was the Seattle game just a write off in terms of evaluation of what we have with this team. Those first games of the season can have some upsets before all the club's get entirely focused.

What do you think?

It takes some teams longer than others to get on track. Seattles defense and offense was pretty bad last year for the first half of the year until they got everything clicking, and than they looked amazing. That's the new NFL for you. Its why winning winnable games, when your not a really good team, is important.

I'm not really sure how much football you watch or if you've been following the NFL (specifically, not college) but you can't take individual games and project them on a team.
Its just impossible do. Too many variables.

Best way to come to any conclusion on this team(as of week 3) is that the Dolphins are a combination of play from all three games. The good, the bad and definitely the ugly.

only time will tell how they fair in the end. Some ppl will look at the bad and project that some ppl (optimistic ppl) will look at the good and project that and so on.

the only realistic way to tell, is to just watch and see how it plays out.

Too many teams have started off slow to turn it on at the end, and vice versa.

I wish we were the team that came back in that second half vs NE. I wish we were that team that Defensively held seattle for 55 minutes. but honestly we are probably closer to the team in Cleveland that made some good plays on offense....made some good plays on defence....but mostly had a very inconsistent lacklustre day in which we barely scraped one by against a scrappy undermanned team.

As an optimist. I'd like to think that we are going to get better. I like where Gase's head is at. I have seen tremendous changes in philosophy on this team. Now its just about getting the players and coaches all on the same page. and ensuring that we play as a TEAM.

I think that Seattle game was more of them playing down to the Dolphins level than the Dolphins playing up to theirs. We've seen what that Seattle team can do and what the Dolphins can do (nothing).

I think week one was more Seattle's offense being bad than us being good. You even hear Baldwin in the huddle before the final drive say something like: we look like we didn't start the game, lets make sure we finish.

And our offense has looked pretty consistent all 3 games, which is to say its been inconsistent from drive to drive.

Another defeat added to the long list of overstated "moral victories" by the Dolphins.

Off top of head in Tannehill era @ Denver, Green Bay, Carolina, @ Cardinals, Giants,

I am hoping the Browns game was just a bad game...bad is an understatement. Outside of Suh, Jones, Landry, Tunsil and Darr there are big question marks everywhere. Tannehill still looks average, the running game is awful. Parker plays great, but doesn't prepare well. Albert and James are suspect tackles, Pouncey is hurt. Mario Williams has disappeared since that first half in Seattle. Our linebackers are garbage. Joseph is having our press cover corners playing 5-7 yards off the line. I am just confused on what this team is and what they are trying to be.

I didn't even bother reviewing the defensive performance vs Seattle because of the their significant problems on the o-line. We should all be very aware of how that effects an offense's performance.

Good point

And consider this, despite their patchwork along the offensive line, Seattle's snap counts are as follows: Offense -82, Defense - 53.

Seattle ran for the usual 30+ plus but Wilson had 43 pass attempts with a TOP of 34+ minutes. That's a lot of time on the field for the defense to be dicking around the field.

We've essentially played 12 1/2 quarters and have looked really bad for at least half of them

The better part of the past two decades the Dolphins have been mediocre.
Mediocre teams are defined by their inconsistency.

Seattle always starts slow and their oline stinks. Can't judge the defense based upon that game

I hope it was a mirage, because we played like ****. If you are looking at it as if we "almost won" and "played well"...then yes, it was definitely a mirage...
