Washington Wants Briggs

Heh. We'll see if he's actually worth it.

Question: Would the Bears be looking at QB now that they're in the Top 10 [if this trade happens]?

Redskins | Team offers No. 6 overall pick for Briggs

<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/14">Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Washington Redskins have offered the No. 6 overall pick to the Chicago Bears for LB Lance Briggs and the No. 31 overall pick, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus.

**** that, if the Redskins offer that they are dumb as hell. I would take that if i was the Bears but i would never offer that. I would take a 1st for Briggs.

Some teams never learn...

That's such a ridiculous move on the part of the Skins.
Sure he's a good player but he's no Vilma, Lewis, Merriman, Thomas, Urlacher. Those guys and a couple of others are the only LB's in the game that are worth 1sts not taking into account age. That's just another boneheaded offer from the Skins.

I hope the Bears accept and ruin the Skins for a few more years because after that 31st if it goes through, they don't have another pick until I think the 6th round. Surely Gaines Adams, Branch and a number of other players are worth more than a weakside LB who had a couple of good years on the best defense in the league...

From the bears standpoint this would be a good deal. They would actually be acquiring a 1st round pick (16th overall) according to the draft value chart for Lance. Now considering that Lance said he has played his last snap for the bears this would be a steal in my opinion to get a 1st round pick for him rather than having him sit on the sidelines all season.

Skins 6th pick = 1600 points
Bears 31st pick = 600 points

The difference is 1000 points which would be that 16th pick in the 1st round.

From the skins standpoint, I dont really know why they would want Lance since LB is not really a pressing need. They havent even given Rock Mcintosh his chance to see if he was worth all the stuff they gave up to acquire him. And they just signed Fletcher from the Bills. They would really be forfeiting their only chance to acquire that pass rushing prospect which I think they desperately need in either G. Adams or J. Anderson. I dont expect neither to fall out of the top 20 so they would have to shuffle more picks to even have a chance at either one. Their D Line should be their #1 priority comming into the draft and trading away their only 1st day pick as well as their only real chance to shore up their D line because Andre Carter and Phillip Daniels will probably never cut it. This would be just another bad/horrible move by the skins but hey Im no longer surprised after seeing them give Brandon Lloyd a fat contract only to result in less than 25 catches :sidelol:

I agree that there are only a few LBs worht a 1st rd pick. I would have to strongly consider Lance at this point being worth a mid to late round 1st round pick.

And I beg to differ that the bears hold the best defense in the league. The Ravens, Pats, and Broncos defenses I think are more complete and better overall than the bears.

lance briggs is easily worth a 1st round pick, and I dont think its a bad move for the skins... i just dont think they need another LB right now... they do have more pressing needs, fletcher washington and macintosh could be a solid starting LB core for them... adding briggs is a luxary that they cant really afford with all their other holes...

yea, the skins just dont know what the hell theyre doing at all. snyder just wants big names. this would make no sense to me at all since they just gave up so much last year to move up in the draft to get Rocky. just a long list of dumb moves such as the panic Duckett move, Lloyd and archuletta.

gibbs is just trying to buy his championship so he can retire. their best player is cooley.

and IMO theres no way they look for QB in the first round since they were banking so much on Grossman, it would make them look dumb(er)
