If memory is correct, wasn't Gase not too keen on acquiring Brock in the preseason? I know after yesterday's game things are "rosy" between them, but I don't recall that mutual admiration prior.

What about this board absolutely killing the FO for signing BO? Then completely bashing them again for keeping him at cutdown day after abusing him in the preseason game threads. But now they want him to continue to start. I wonder if all teams have fans that are this clueless.

Yes, Because Gase knows BO limits. I suspect for those of us that are living in fairyland will see those limits very shortly too.

I didn't buy the reports of Gase "not keen" on Osweiler.

Osweiler wouldn't be a Dolphin if it weren't for Gase.

I still think it was more of a case of Gase saying he wasn't sure that Osweiler would accept coming in and competing for the third qb job in camp and not being guarenteed a roster spot.

This was sold as the FO talking Gase into it. Doesn't match what Brock said after the game

Exactly - funny you should mention as I was just watching his presser. It's worth watching for any fan. He says alot about Gase and the team in general, and always good to get to know the guys i'm rooting for a bit. Hearing B.O. talk about how when the dolphins called he cancelled all other appointments due to Gase, you know he fully believes in Gase and says as much (or more, actually).

I was one of the few in here that actually liked the signing of Osweiler as backup. Thought he was better than Fales and Moore. Never wanted him as starter though.

Sure does seem like a quick annoiting .... let’s see a a decent sample size,
The entire league was ambivalent towards Brock Osweiler. I won’t penalize Gase for that.

Let’s see a few more games, including a road game, depending on the RT injury.

This immediate swing to belief in the backup QB happens a lot and then......

Yep. It was Gase himself who talked about it in one of his preseason PCs. He basically implied they had to sell him the idea of bringing in Brock. Glad it's worked out (so far).

I know he said that but I never bought it.

Brock could be a late bloomer, not that I expect him to have Testaverde turnaround, Gase probably saw earlier a different Brock but he did Keep him on the roster even after a pretty bad pre season things change players grow

I always kinda thought he was being sarcastic when he said he didn’t want osweiler. Maybe an inside joke or something. Personally I’ve always thought the pickup was pretty good. His stats showed he wasn’t as bad as people were trying to make him out to be.
