It was really just irritating, because I really thought I was providing some inciteful things in there. Of course it is late here and I could just be incoherent. I would write it again, but it took too long the first time. Basically I think that the successes we had running the ball was when Sammy Morris was in there. It really seems that RB doesnt hit the hole full steam. There are times he does and he gains yards. I would like someone to look at the game film though and let me know on this. I am in Iraq and dont have the luxury to have a VCR to go back and forth on it. I think all of us would have said that if Gus would go for approx 200 yards with a td we would have taken that before the game. Those are good enough stats for us to win against good teams. I also made a reference to the penalties and dropped passes, but thats been covered repeatedly in several places. The only thing to really be take from this game though is that the Jets played well enough to win a football game that was played poorly by both teams. Honestly, the Jets werent that good either. I think I can count on one hand how many spirals penny threw. The other thing that I have a problem with is our deep passing game. IMO we HAVE to throw deep at least 4 times a game. Even if we throw picks deep, it is the same as a punt if its on 3rd down. I am also a HUGE fan of running against the blitz rather than trying to pass out of it. All it takes is one missed block and the running back is in the secondary. Anyway, just quick hit thoughts. Remember everyone is 1-1 in our division and its time to get ready for Carolina. I wished I could be there. This is the second year in a row I wont have season tickets due to this deployment! I am hoping to be home in december and getting some tickets then. Hopefully I will run into some of you then.
