Watch out for these Dolphins

You may want to actually watch Kevin Burnett. He was a key player for the Chargers #1 defense last year, and dude was ALL OVER the field this preseason. He is going to be a playmaker, period.

Yes. Its both a testament to the football player he is and the football player that Crowder isn't. I'm not saying Burnett is PWillis, but he's such a huge upgrade over Crowder.

Yes, you can see very quickly that Burnett is a HUGE upgrade over Crowder. IMO, the weakest link on defense has been eliminated

im also excited by this year nobody thinks were going to compete this year but i know this yeam and this is the best team we have had in the last 3 years.the experts dont seem to remember we beat some of the best teams on the road last year and we just for whatever reason couldn't win at home this is a new year and this year we will win most of our home games if not all and still be a power house on the road. 10-6 and make the playoffs....

We did not look perfect, but Burnett has looked excellent. WAY better than CC.

Great thread. I can't wait for Monday Night to come so we can finally unveil the 2011 Dolphins team! I like the moves we've made. I like our chances this season. The Phins have a lot to prove to the sports world, and to their loyal fans!

I'm very excited for the season. The only fear i have and i mean only is the Oline play. They had trouble makeing holes and seemed to be better in the Pass. I hope that with Long back he give some of his ability to the rest of the line and makes them play better.

Refreshing read and I agree with a lot of your points. Defense is stacked everywhere and deep except at ILB where we have to avoid injuries at all costs. However, I'm not very optimistic that our offense will be top 12-15 because of the running game, I obviously have doubts concerning the Oline because our guards can't move at all and I suspect we'll become too predictable in our running game. I'm convinced Henne and the passing offense in general will be improved greatly with Daboll in charge.

Our schedule is very tough in the 1st half, the first two games will dictate if we can have a great season. We can have a good season even if we start 0-2 but it would be way too hard to expect much better than 9-7. If we win 1 our 2 against NE and HOU, I'll be really confident from then on...

Think about it this way. On offense and defense, position to position vs the pats who starts? On defense, maybe only Wilfork is the clear-cut upgrade. On offense, of course Darth Brady and the TE goes to pats. And people have the pats in the superbowl. Think about that. Just goes to show you once again how important the QB position is. Colts fans are about realize that on Sunday with no Manning.

The greatest improvement I've witnessed this pre season is team speed. Speed can overcome some young mistakes and in season's past we just didn't have it. I'm looking forward to this season.

I see the greatest improvement as being the offensive system where Henne gets ball out quick and is making decisions both pre and post snap.

To be honest (dont bash me), I didn't watch a single pre-season game since I live in Washington DC. But I hear the OL is a joke, I'm not sure why people are so high on Kevin Burnett when he never struck me as more than mediocre at his last team (and on Madden lol), our running game didn't look too good this pre-season (ditching Ricky and Ronnie was a mistake), and watching sportscenter we seemed to let big pass plays go right through us. I also heard the DL wasnt penetrating the OL...

if this is all true, yikes...

im glad you associate yourself with CNN. Now I dont have to waste my time anymore responding to your posts. really? going with what the media says? yikes.

so if henne goes say 24 tds with 12 interceptions are we not on our way? I think its entirely possible.

Great post by you brother, and yes, something is definitely in the air with this team. I haven't been this excited since Saban (hed still be here if he chose drew brees...and wed have been winning ever since) and its not blind homerism. This is a quality football team, top to bottom. Henne is growing his testicular fortitude, and the swagger of Pouncey and the kill mode offense of Daboll, the championship pedigree of Bush... The formula, the pieces, the attitude are all in place.

Look, anyone who doesn't see this franchise as being on the rise is not paying attention. Period. F the national media...we don't need their respect, bc I guarantee totty that in locker rooms around the league, the Miami Dolphins are respected...and thats really all that matters.

Lets get it poppin'....starting Monday..

Wow. +17 takeaway differential.

That would be real nice! Just goes to show that avg. O and good D along with big takeaways spells W.

We would have been +20 last year if they had caught 1/2 of the interceptions that hit them in the hands. Just Sayin'

Totally agree. It is going to be great not watching these other teams dump it over the middle to the back, because Crowder could just not keep up with them. Lets see a QB try to run it up the middle now like they did a few years ago. We will beat the TEXANS this year,,,,,,,,,,,,,,finally!!!
