Officiating aside, it's simply astounding how people can watch clips like this and say that RT17 has no pocket awareness.
This play is all pocket ownage from beginning to end by RT.
The interior OL gets exploded back into his face in the form of a flying Kilgore.
RT absorbs the pressure and slides left and up -- INSTINCTIVELY realizing that the DT is fully engaged with Kilgore and unable to make the tackle.
So he instinctively slides up and left -- sliding, sliding until his WR clears.
But, the pocket is messy -- exploded from the snap. So he absorbs more contact from Tunsil getting pushed into him and then Tunsi's man hitting him.
Still makes the completion in timing and stride for the first down.
Courageous, purely instinctual play. Keeps his eyes up the whole time. Never breaks and runs (and throws ball away) once pocket crumbles.
Watch Brady play. Any interior explosion like this has him ducking and running for cover. Choosing to toss the play rather than risk heavy contact.
Everytime someone says that RT17 has poor pocket presence, I just shake my head. He's done stuff like this for countless snaps -- making plays with a nonexistent or exploded pocket.
