I found it interesting, they had us picking Devante Parker at 14. Gurley, Gordon, Perriman, Agholor,Devin Smith, Kendricks, were all still available..

Obviously this doesnt involve any trade up or down scenarios, but the way it played out seemed interesting to me. Having all these players still available at 14 is a good thing. I would have went Gurley instead of Parker. Bill Polian also said if Gurley is there you take him over Parker.. He does see Parker and White as kind of equal value players. With Gurley you can also split him out wide, but the good thing is we can have a decent set of wrs left after the 1st it seems. They had jets taking kevin white. and oakland taking amari cooper. After seeing this I realized how many coveted defensive players are as well as offensive tackles... the teams above us will most likely pick these guys over the skilled positions. Around 14 is when the run on skill players will surge.

Thoughts?

1. Gurley
2. Parker
3. Kendricks (with trade down). Any of the 3 and I'm happy. But Gurley would be particularly exciting because I think he transforms this team and adds sone needed toughness on offense. Landry has it too.

To me it is:

1st option: DeVante Parker
2nd option: Todd Gurley
3rd option: Trade down w/ DAL for Kendricks

ESPN has featured plenty of good draft content today, unlike NFL Network which must be underfunded or flat out lazy given the reliance on reruns.

I saw that mock on ESPN. McShay loved the Parker pick and isolated it later as perhaps the best value. He said there's basically no difference between White and Parker, and that Parker really picked up his game in the second half of the season last year, with excellent elusiveness after the catch for that size receiver. I might be underrating Parker based on the bowl game to conclude 2013, which I attended in Orlando. He had a big night statistically in that Russell Bowl but ran lots of lazy routes.

I'm higher on Parker now than I was a couple of weeks ago, after looking at a couple of Louisville games I had saved.

Polian wanted us to take Gurley, emphasizing that our offense is reliant on the running game.

Danny Shelton is the most intriguing variable in this draft, IMO. Every day I see him pushed up and pushed down. Polian on that show didn't like the early selection of Shelton, saying his 5.6 forty time was a disqualifier, and unprecedented for somebody with that number to be picked high and play well. I read a summary today on another forum that describes Shelton as I've seen him, a lazy type who takes advantage of lesser players but otherwise prefers to run around blocks and basically wander around. Yet I also saw a tweet from danpompei calling Shelton a legit Top 10 pick and a rare talent.

Only issue with Parker I have is that he doesn't always separate.

I thought the first words in the OP were going to be "at a Sports bar when I ran into (insert player)"

I like the pick, but can you post the rest of the picks before us. I'd like to gauge the probability of having Parker and Gurley both fall to 14.....I did not see that as feasible prior, but would definitely reconsider that if the picks made sense.

I'm hoping one of Parker, Scherff or Waynes is available. Any of those 3 would be ideal.
