I feel like our offense and our game plan went to basically panic mode and didn't show any sort of confidence at all WHEN Hartline got hurt.

we had one shot with Wallace which Tannehill overthrew but i feel like that was it, Rishard Matthews and Marlon Moore isn't going to demand any attention from anyone as the no.2 and no.3 wr's behind Wallace and i felt like they zoned in on Wallace and Clay for the most part.

Hartline was kind of having his way with Cromartie until he got hurt.

BUT

regardless i feel Sherman should've prepared better and we had a whole halftime to adjust on offense.

our defense was terrible as well Wake was a no show and Vernon's play fell off.

Dude, why would you watch that train wreck again. That's like pushing a button that kicks you in the balls, and when you get up, you push the button again.

Tiko is correct. The moment that Hartline left the field, the team confidence was smashed and the Jets confidence progressively grew from there. What I don't understand is why the team confidence is so frail that it's like a balloon that gets pricked. This has been a problem for years, through different coaches and GMs.
The team confidence was pretty good early in the season, winning the first 3 games but then the Monday night game against New Orleans in New Orleans, a couple of turnovers and the team confidence was smashed for the next month, losing tight games.
Maybe too much emphasis is placed on the playing skills and the biggest deficiency is a visible articulate team leader in the locker room, who can steady the team. Cam Wake is a good player who tries hard but when the microphones were placed on him a few weeks ago, he barely said boo. He is mature. He is talented. He gives good effort. But he is quiet.
In contrast, Ray Lewis would yell and scream and dance and pray and at times seemed like an idiot. However, he had the leadership attributes to inspire others. I ask a serious question - Who are the on-field team Dolphin team leaders? Most of the more senior players seem intelligent and quiet. Hartline is articulate but I doubt that he can stir up the other players. Maybe we need to find a visible passionate team leader for the locker room and field.

Find it coincidental that Philbin ran off the "Leadership Council of 2012 Hard Knocks" it is no secret that Philbin got rid of players that would question his authority ( Marshall, Vontae, Jake, Dansby, Bush) Albeit Marshall never played for him (he would question his leadership/authority if he stayed), and we offered Jake a contract. The point is Philbin wanted to be the Alpha Leader and wants submissive players to follow his every step.

Hartline is our main player. Without him we have no offense.

its bc Sherman is not creative and does not believe in creating mismatches. why would you not move Wallace around? Sherman is the second coming of henning. some games I think he just closes his eyes and points to his call sheet and whatever play his finger lands on he calls. and not to mention the d is not very good and did not put pressure on geno

Not if Gibson and or keller were still around.

Its accumulation of key player injuries. If Gronk for NE had stayed injured, do you think they would have made it? Maybe, maybe just barely under our circumstances, which had many.

A Philbin conspiracy so that he can be the dominant male on the team....and nobody else......this seems like a bit of a stretch to me. Could it be because....

* Marshall had off the field issues and we weren't smart enough to know he needed some help? (mental disorder)
* Dansby is getting old and expensive, as was Burnett. We got younger and cheaper (but unfortunately, not better....but most of us liked the move)
* Long we tried to sign and couldn't.
* Davis, had a work ethic issue and was marginal at times. He also is certainly no leader (although it appears his grandmother is)
* Bush I will give you. I would have kept him....and he was excellent in the locker room and supported Philbin....so there was no conflict.

In the Jets game, the keys to me were our inability to run the ball throughout the season showed up again and we panicked by abondoning it to a large degree. Our "D-line" was a no show and our LB's didn't stop the run very well. Despite the "D" line and linebackers, the issue is the offense. We score 3 touchdowns against either Buffalo or the Jets and we win both games. Our defense gave up 20 or less points in these two games which should be good enough to win in the NFL.

We can point to all of the scapegoats we want, but each game, it came down to the same thing........we can't run the ball, become one dimentional to defenses and aren't good enough yet in the passing game to rely on it consistently to win games.

To what do you attribute the sub-50 QB rating, with which only a 0.123 winning percentage has been associated in the 1,171 games in which it's happened since 1994?

The seeming lack of obvious team leadership in the Dolphins rekindled thoughts from when I was a kid growing up in Australia. At the time, Australia totally dominated the English in test cricket. We had the best batsmen and bowlers and there was nothing better than beating the English. Killing the English at cricket is still a favorite national pastime. However in the 1970's the English picked a 34 year old Cambridge University educated psychoanalyst named Mike Brearley to be their team captain. His batting record was at best mediocre (22). He never scored a single test century. His personal results were not really good enough to make the team, yet alone as captain. However, under his captaincy the English were incredibly successful. He had the ability to bring the best out of every one of his players. After several years of England being on top he was kicked off the team and the star players he led took over. However, after a short stint, the England team suddenly went downward and had lost the early games to traditional rival Australia. The then English captain Botham suddenly gave up the captaincy and they called up Mike Brearley to just come back as captain. He did. And the English went on to win those games and the star player Botham returned to good form. After winning the series, Brearley retired from playing test cricket and his underling of his Middlesex county team took over as English captain.
My point in sharing the old Mike Brearley story was that this was a guy whose personal scores suggest he was average, but his leadership skills were so outstanding that it didn't matter. As a top psychoanalyst he got the best from his players and intimidated his opponents. He is now 71.
Maybe Miami just needs to recruit a dominant team leader on the field. Tannehill is a talented young player but he's softly spoken and highly analytical - I have seen nothing to suggest he has strong leadership attributes. In contrast, Brady has the leadership attributes to intimidate opponents - he does it year after year and it doesn't matter what talent surrounds him. In a way, Ray Lewis' leadership attributes were the key behind Baltimore's successful Super Bowl run last season.
Welcome your thoughts, do we just need to find an on-field general? (Please don't suggest that Richie Incognito was that locker room leader).

You lost me when you mentioned vontae as a leader, the guy doesn't know which end of a cereal box to open.

Yeah I instadeleted that game from my pvr.

Tannehill played like **** and after Hartline went down all the Jets had to was take away Clay because we sure as **** can't get the ball to Wallace.

Seemed kind of simple to me. Our offense lacks anything special in it's utilization of it's strengths and is far to predictable in certain situations. And our defense folded when it mattered.

Not the best analogy to showcase Vontae's lack of smarts. It really does not matter which end of a cereal box you open.

"Vontae could not get out a wet paper bag if someone held it open & pointed the way."
