Is it just me, or does anyone else find chambers a really big disappointment this year??? Sure he's got a few TD receptions... but it just seems his effort leaves alot to be desired this year. The one play i'll reference is the interception at the end of the first half on Thursday. Total lack of effort by Chambers... and even after the pick... he just... i dont know, just watching his reaction really gave me the impression that he really couldnt care less whether that pass got picked off... or whether he caught it. Dont get me wrong, I think he's a talented receiver, I'd just like to see more from him, especially after last year. It's almost as if he's got that attitude that since Daunte is gone... his season is as well. Maybe I'm just looking too much into things as well. Oh well, cant complain with 4 in a row, and I know... guys like Booker and Welker are getting more looks and balls thrown to them this year probably because of Chambers being on the field.. it just seems he doesnt like that role. Oh well, like I said, cant complain with 4 in a row.

What do you guys/girls think?

You're not looking too much into things.

I saw it too. He doesn't play with a sense of urgency or maybe it is a confidence thing. I'm not real sure. I thought he would turn it on when the offense improved as a whole.

So far it hasn't happened.

Sometimes I agree with your statements of lack of effort but this week I decided to watch CC as much as possible.

I dont think he could have prevented the pick, he is running a fly pattern and the ball is underthrown, it would be hard to stop the momentum. In my opinion JH has to thrown that ball 2 seconds earlier and it is an easy completion.

Something that I noticed is JH does not even look CC's way at all. If chambers is on the left JH drops back and looks right. Not sure if the play calling only has JH focus on one side.

I too am very disappointed with CC's statistics but watching this week showed me that he is not targeted at all. All his patterns are 20+ routes.

One other thing that i noticed with CC is you have to get him in the game early. If he has a catch or 2 on the first drive he has monster games, when he doesnt it seems that he disappears. Its a shame that the coaching staff doesnt know this!!

After what he was expected to do at the beginning of the year and after how he performed last season, he's a big let down this year.

If Chambers is the primary receiver he certaintly has not lived up to it this year. I think you`re right with the Culpepper reference also. It was no secret how much Chambers was looking forward to Culpepper being the QB this year and if thats affecting his play its not very professional. As for the INT befor the half it seemed he was disappointed that Harrington didnt get the ball to him a little sooner as he was wide open. Chambers is a MUCH better receiver then what he`s been showing recently. Hopefully he`ll step it up down the stretch.

I didn't want to get too much into that... but... that IS exactly what i meant. I remember him in training camp interviews, how excited he was to have someone like Daunte throwing him the ball. But I didnt reference that part as I didnt want this to become a Culpepper/Harrington thread. For the record though.. I'm happy with both as a QB for this team. I have nothing against either. But I'm very happy to see Joey getting it done, and starting to prove he wasnt the "big" problem in Detroit.

However, I do agree with an earlier post about Chambers not getting many looks... Thats another thing I noticed in Thursdays game too... Whatever it is... whether its attitude, or playcalling.... I hope it gets fixed ASAP... we'll need him with Ronnie out.

Story of his career. He has always been an underachiever. Nothing different here.

Hes never been an aggressive receiver. Last year, someone lit a fire under his butt. I guess it was only a temporary thing.

Yeah it seems by the time Chambers makes his cut he is out of the play because the football has already been thrown.

More slot?

Ahh. Mularkey is the offensive guru that should decide how to use Chris. Right? Right.

Should be interesting if Chambers get's traded in the offseason I guess Culpepper wasn't his future QB afterall.

He has been very disappointing and as far as not getting "looks" he leads the team in passes thrown to him at 100 of those he's only caught 42 for 467 yards, the lowest yardage of everyone on the team and he is ranked 74th amongst recievers in the NFL.

His lack of effort is undeniable both on the field and in the numbers, it's really disappointing because he has the talent but we've been waiting 6 years for him to start using it and it's starting to seem like it's just never going to happen.

Maybe putting him in the slot more is a good idea... but... then what do you do with Welker?

Joey's always been a guy to get rid of the ball quickly... so maybe just shorten up some of Chambers' routes... no need for him to run 20+ on every play...

As for a trade?? I dont see that coming in the future... If we get rid of anyone of the receivers, it has to be Hagan... sure he's a rookie and all, but he's been a major disappointment... I wanted to run out of my seat and onto the field on thursday to knock some sense into him in hope's he'd hold on to the damn ball for once

Lets face it guys, Booker is the guy our QB's have an eye on NOT CC. Not sure hwy but it is what it is. CC is NOT being played like a number 1 nor is he acting/performing like 1. it goes both ways.
