He needed to just shows you how much Thill is being handcuffed by Sherman. If this doesn't help in Ross's decision making I don't know what will. And Philbin for that matter also.

I really hope it's Sherman. It doesn't make sense that an athletic QB is a statue in the pocket.

Our coaching staff blows but this is the owner who has given us a 7th straight year of Jeff Ireland.

TY Hilton 200+ yards, why? They moved him around, put him in motion, and ran picks, crossing routes, etc. to get him open with room to run. Mike Sherman blows.

Yep. Tannehill is also handcuffed by the way Mike Wallace gets open deep. If he would just get open deep the same way Hilton does, Tannehill could hit those deep TDs too.

I had Luck as my QB in fantasy football so I followed him pretty closely. While his season stats are actually pretty close to Tannehill's, Luck did it with a lot less talent at his disposal when Reggie Wayne went to IR. Luck always believes that he can win. He seems to have a lot of success in the close games, coming from behind, he elevates his game, even though we beat Indy in a close game early in the season.
The other big difference is that although Tannehill is the same height, Luck weighs 239 lb compared to RT at about 220 lb. Luck is deceptively big - he weighs around the same as Ben Roethlisberger, but he can also run. Luck has a relatively small head, but make no mistake he is a physical beast and can take the big hits. In contrast, Tannehill is skinny and runs the risk of serious injury if hit on the run. (I think that it's why Sherman has avoided having him run more often).

I've been on this board for awhile but spend most of my time lurking, as you can tell from my post count, but I remember when I would look forward to your posts. Now it seems the only time I read something from you it's about how much you hate Tannehill. Just wish you could get over this phase you're stuck in and go back to posting insightful comments. I miss the old WV.

Tannehill is the best QB we've had in quite some time, but he is not above criticism. I appreciate different points of view, it makes the conversation more interesting.
As much as I like RT, if we were in position to get a better QB in the draft, I would take him. Shula would in a heart beat. RT has not accomplished anything from a team perspective. It helps to keep an open mind.

Nothing wrong with criticism, but some of the posters have gone beyond criticism to a full on compulsion, simply stating the same thing over and over to the exclusion of everything else. At some point you'd figure that you got your point across and move on to other topics. Regardless of how you feel about our QB there are plenty of other areas on this team to criticize if you feel the need.

as it was discussed in another thread, mike wallace varies his speed making it incredibly difficult to judge the pass. what makes hilton so amazing is he maintains the exact same rate of travel no matter what the route is. people expect ryan tannehill to throw mike wallace open like we didn't just give the guy 30 mil guaranteed. please.

I know what you mean. Some of it is pure frustration and some of it is short sighted. RT can be replaced, so can the coaches if an upgrade presents itself. Right now, I would give RT another 2-3 years with another OC and QB coach. He is not being prepared or put into situations to succeed, yet he still does. He is worth developing.

Shula probably didn't have such huge deficiencies in the O-line, to be able to accommodate the luxury of drafting another QB. The likely draft errors of Martin and Thomas are costly, we need to draft more cornfed O-linemen.

Tannehill can easily run like Luck and Smith ran today, he was being handcuffed.

Why in hell is Sherman still on this team?! News of his firing should have come by now.

The offenses in both games were miles ahead of us. Wallace rarely runs drags or deep routes in the middle. It's deep down the sideline, out, curl, or slant. We don't put people in position to block after a catch, use our rbs in the flat. The list can go on, and that's just the pass game. Don't get me started on the run game.
