Watching the NFL Network tonight

NFL Network: Miami Dolphins Draft Gurus Weigh In

I was watching the NFL Network tonight and Mike Mayock and Charles Davis were talking about who Miami was going to draft. Mike thinks it is going to be Matt Ryan man does he have a hard on for him. He talks about him like he is the next coming of Dan Marino which is completely wrong. He has BUST written all over him. Charles loves Chris Long which is ok because I think he will be a great pro, but we have no room for him. Why do they keep on insisting that Jake Long is a RT and we need to find out if he is a LT. Explain this to me how is he the best prospect out of a deep T class and he is being questioned like that. He is nasty and is a hugh road block. So i guess every T in this class is a RT? I think not Miami drafts Jake Long
 
I don't understand why people keep saying that we have no room for Chris Long. First of all I think there is a very good chance that Jason Taylor is traded on draft day. Even if we do keep him we could still use Long. Joey Porter is not the pro-bowler that he used to be in Pittsburgh, he may have been one of the better players on our defense last year as some people point out, but come on our defense SUCKED last year, nobody on that defense should have any job security right now. Even then, Long has the versatility to play both OLB, and end in passing situations, and you can never have enough depth on the front seven.

Porter came from a 3-4 defense...was placed in a 4-3 defense...very big difference. Porter came on late in the season...as he learned what to do.

I'd rather roll with Quentin Moses, Abe Wright and the other OLB's (Porter, Charlie Anderson) and go with what we need: a stud OT.

I was watching a segment tonight and I think it was a rerun because they were talking about how USC's pro-day was coming up. Wasent that a couple weeks ago?
I think Mayock is the only one left that has the Fins taking Ryan.
 
VT whats up with that JT is not going to be traded you heard it from Sparano. Joey was excellent when utilized properly. The coaching is what made this defense weak. Parcells took care of most of the defense in FA. We could use a little help inside linebacker and corner and our defense is set. If we take care of the OLine and a shut down corner with the 1st and second round picks. Then concentrate on TE and then fill holes or BPA for depth with our late rounds we should have a real good team next year. JLONG
 
Mayock is biased... he is a BC grad and I heard somewhere he is close to the ryans family.

Man oh man he has been calling for Ryan to be the #1 pick since last August :rolleyes2:

You can't believe anything that our front office is saying right now, it is all about disinformation. By pretending that we are not interested in trading him, they are trying to raise his trade value. If everyone knows that we are trying to get rid of him, his value goes down.

Think maybe Ryan will give Mayock a cut of his signing bonus if he's drafted #1? :tongue:
 
Yep, all this means nothing. More reporter just making a guess based upon their own biases, assumptions, and not on any known fact or inside information. IF (and that's a big if) something happens, it won't be until draft day for a many reasons. For example, IF they have any intentions of really trading JT, they won't do it until draft day, as it could imply that we then would have a need at OLB and perhaps tip who we might select and kill any possible trade offers for the top spot (if there are any). All speculation and smokescreens until draft day. Get use to them, there will be plenty more in the next few weeks.
 
Mike Mayock makes me sick.... He's a Boston College guy and is such a homer to have his boy be picked first by Miami.... It makes me sick!!!!

I would give the QB with intangibles a better chance of succeeding than one with physical gifts

I "hope/wish" MIA drafts MATT RYAN, but believe MIA is drafting JAKE LONG.
