"I live by the film," Watkins told the team's official site after catching all eight of his targets for a career-best 168 yards and a touchdown. "I watched (Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes) in every game from 2-3 years ago and watched how he plays press and doesn't switch it up. So I set it up to keep taking him inside, keep selling it. I beat him inside on the first throw, so I knew when in doubt that he's going to jump inside if I do it. So I double-moved him inside, sold him with my body. He jumped, and I just put my hand up, and Tyrod delivered the ball."

I think Grimes' days are becoming limited...is it me or is he always falling, slipping or tripping...i hope im wrong but i think this may be the start of a drop off for him...yesterday he didn't look like the Grimes we thought would give us another good year or 2 but instead showed us his age and lack of size is catching up, even considering watkins is a beast in terms of size and athleticism...listen im a pretty big grimes guy, but I think drafting a CB is our #1 priority on D followed by a close 2nd with a MLB. We need to draft a CB and sign a good one in FA.
 
he has regressed and it's a no brainer he will be cut with $18M remaining if he stays
 
2 questions for the next HC interviews:

1) do you encourage players and coaches to watch tape?

2) if an opposing WR is getting 99.99999% of the receiving yards, do you make adjustments?
 
Bet you won't hear anything from Miko now. Her husband is washed up.
 
Grimes is a great player. I shudder to think how bad our secondary would be without him.
That said, he is being over paid and is not a true #1 corner. He cannot play against tall receivers.
Watkins is a top talent and receiver. We need to counter him with an equally tall and athletic CB.
Grimes cannot do it. Grimes would be a great 2nd corner.
That is why I feel we need to draft CB with our #1 pick. We need talent there to compete with these top WR's.
 
No Grimes in the top 32, no trip to Hawaii this year.

It would be nice to be in a Cover 2 and have some safety help. I think they wanted to challenge the health of Watkins and they paid for it.
 
Grimes gets away solely on his ability to overcome his physical deficiencies. Who pays a midget top end money or makes them their primary cover corner? As he ages he will not be able to come back to the ball anymore and will get burned. I don't want grimes covering Dez Bryant or Antonio brown. Do you?

Grimes will be gone at the end of the season. He's an average CB now and not worth his contract. The Dolphins will need two new starting CBs in 2016.
