I like wayne but seriouly wonder if he is a good owner. He is a loyale Miami Dolphin guy I believe, BUT, is that enough? He spares no expense on the upper organaztion end and the teams facalities, etc.... Maybe for valentines day we could all pitch in and buy him a book titled " how to own a football team for dummies" ( only met to be funny not mean, before you wayne fans start bashing me). Im only trying to say its not enough to just throw alot of money at big names and elaborate traing faculities, the money needs to be spent effectivly. I dont know if Wayne is a victim of bad luck or bad decissions, but I have been a fan for over 30 years now and since Wayne has taken over we seem to have done nothing but slip backwards. His mantra seems to be throw money at big names, and hope they will fix all our problems.

Im still skeptical about our HC and our GM right now, but hope, we have two good ones. They both have monstrous tasks in front of them and will need to work very closly together. Im not intrested in seeing a winning record seaon this year as much as Im intrested in seeing contracts restructered to more accuratly reflect the money they deserve for what they contribute to the team, trades taking place that show us getting rid of over paid talent that isnt willing to restructure. Im refraining from singling out players and examples in this post but am gonna make an exception here for illastrative purposes; Ricky is argubly the best value on the team, if reinstated, top running back who plays for leauge minnium. Cpep one of highest paid players on team being paid to sit on bench and rehab knee ( IMO he owes us a contract restructure, at least for this next season).

I dont envy the front offices task this year. Lots of damage control needs to be done.

LETS ALL HOPE WAYNE GOT IT RIGHT THIS TIME!

He's not this guy, is he?

Having spent my childhood and early teens in Philly, we don't know what it's like to have bad owners...Owners that are more interested in their other businesses and making more money than winning. Wayne may not have had the successes yet, but I just can't question his motive. When JJ was hired, EVERY person from the nat'l press to the lowliest fans all thought that he was going to take us back to prominence. You've were here, didn't you think the same ?? The fact that JJ couldn't get the job done wasn't Wayne's fault.

Wanny came on with JJ's team and didn't get the job done either, but his appointment was from JJ, not Wayne. Wayne did, however, probably hang on to Wanny longer than he should have, but at least we were consistent winners under him until the last year. Actually, as businessman, keeping Wanny as long as he did was the right thing, but as fans wanting to see more, it obviously wasn't.

Then came Saban, another unanimous choice that was 'taking us to the dance'. Wayne didn't make the personnel moves, hire the position coaches, or alienate the FO from the fans or press. Saban did all that. Wayne saw what was happening and let Saban go back to the backwoods without a murmur...doesn't that tell you something about whether he knew what was better for the team ??

Now comes Cam and Mueller. Mueller is a well respected administrator at the FO level. He's been successful wherever he's been, save for his time with Saban. Even with that, from a personnel perspective, it's too early to say whether these guys won't pan out. Our problem is that, as fans, we want to see the success NOW, not in a couple of years when these guys mature.

Cam is an unknown as a HC, no doubt. He's not an unknown in the league however. He's been successful as both a position coach and coordinator. He's been the coordinator while LT has become the best RB in the game, and perhaps (of course, we'll have to give him the rest of his career to make the determination) the best RB of all time. Gates has re-written what is expected of TE's. While LT and Gates are phenomenal athletes, there is a reason they've been as successful. The development of Rivers and Brees is also a feather in Cam's cap. Someone had to put all that talent together. It was Cam.

As desperate as we are for success here, we still have to be somewhat patient with this regime. There are 31 teams every year that are 'disappointed' at the end of the football year. I don't think, from a talent perspective we are as bare as some do. Offensively, we are a few pieces short and defensively, we probably have more needs, due to age not talent. Lets spend our time watching the process (sorry for the Sabanism) of Cam building this team and let Wayne continue to do his thing...it really has not been all that bad...

He looks like the trolls in lord of the rings.

Wayne isn't the problem. A cooperative owner, a guy that wants to win at all expenses, and a all around decent person, that's a great situation for a player , HC, or anyone for that matter. He's just had some bad luck

I think that was one of Larry's bigger points, it shouldn't depend on luck.

Wayne has not instilled a winning process. Because Wayne has chosen not to make himself part of the process. In essence, he's Kevin Costner without James Earl Jones. He built (bought) the field, but he doesn't know why.

I'd rather have an owner with deep pockets willing to spend, then an owner with deep pockets not willing to spend (see the Bills).

I agree. You can't have everything in life. At least we do have an owner who spends money.

But, situations arise in which every member of an organization becomes vital to success. When the weaker members are called upon to perform, it truly hinders the entire effort.

We have arrived at a situation in which Wayne's leadership is needed. Not just his money. We've transitioned through the JJ, Wanny and Saban eras. There's a lot of new faces all over the organization. Many of these faces haven't been there very long. Especially key executive positions.

That leaves Wayne as the bridging component. He is the defacto shepherd of this flock, until a new identity is formed.

We've been free falling for the past 10 years. Every new regime has yet to realize it's potential. It's left us with bits and pieces from many puzzles. We have no identity as a team or as an organization.

I firmly believe in order to arise from these newly formed ashes, we must stick with 1 HC for many years. We need to endure his system until it becomes our identity. Succeed or fail, we need a model to improve on and study for failure's sake. We cannot gather any conclusive decisions about the past 3 regimes. We simply didn't study them long enough.

We need a Bill Cowher and Jeff Fisher era. 10 years of 1 guy. We need stability. And, I think we should give Cam that type of time to prove himself.

This "3 years and a Super Bowl" mentality has got to go.

Wayne must be the firm hand in this.

Look, I like Wayne Huizenga. I've never met the man, but from the conferences I've seen, he seems to be a man who had to earn his millions not recieve them from trust funds, and knows how to treat others who are tying to work as hard. Furthermore, he wants the best for our ballclub and spends accordingly.

But make no mistake about it ladies and gentleman, Wayne Huizenga is a business man and the day the Miami Dolphins or Joe Robbie Stadium net in the red, well... you remember the Florida Marlin team he chopped and sold... and they were champions.

Excellent post, give these guys some time and we'll be back in the playoffs for sure. Wayne is an excellent owner, wouldn't trade owners with many teams that is for sure. Wayne can only do what he has done: hire the best minds he can and give them room to do what they do best. Hiring a coach can be as big a crapshoot as drafting a player. At least Wayne is smart enough to hire the best and STAY OUT OF THEIR WAY, which is far better than many NFL owners.

Ever since Wayne has owned the team, the Head coach
has had absolute power(except, that one year it was taken from Wanny and given to a idiot ,Rick S)
We need to get back to the proper football power
structure...Owner>GM>Head coach
