Wayne is the worst owner in the league....by far!

Wayne H. is not even close to being the worst owner in the NFL. Does he have a mess in the front office/coaching staff right now? Yes. Does he need to step in and find the right football guy to have complete control of the organization? Yes.

Is he the worst owner? Not even close. There are plenty of NFL owners who don't even care about putting a winning product on the field. How would you like to have R. McCombs as an owner. He hires the cheapest coach who will take the job and then doesn't allow the team to even come close to spending the full salary cap on players' salaries. Look at Irsay in Indianapolis. He totally screwed up the Manning deal because he didn't have to cash for a signing bonus two years ago when the new contract should have been done. Instead, he put his franchise in cap jail for years to come, unable to sign anybody but street free agents to play defense. On top of that, every time he talks to the media, he says that he doesn't think the franchise can ever be viable in Indianapolis. Way to build support for the team, Jim. Look at owners like the Bensons in New Orleans or the old Smith family in Atlanta that went through decades and coaching change after coaching change without ever putting a competitive product on the field.

Huzeinga has made his share of mistakes. Frankly, I think too many people (like Marino, maybe J. Johnson) have his ear and he missed a golden opportunity to hire Bill Parcells before last season. I think he has to clean house and find the right guy to call the shots. However, there are plenty of good owners who go through that kind of turmoil. Heck, Robert Kraft is a great owner and he went through a similar mess between the end of the Parcells era and the hiring of Belichick. I don't see any signs of truly bad ownership in Miami. He made a mistake with Wanny and has stuck with him too long (although in fairness, Wanny has had consistent winning records). Stuff happens.

Thi Is Just An Outright Poor Post. Mr. H Is A Great Owner. He Does What Is Needed For The Team Even Though The Miami Fan Base Is Very Fickle. He Lloks Out For His Own. Ie, Giving Marino Th Eposition. He Lets The Football Guys Make Decisions. We Should All Rember That Jj Brought In The Bumb Wanny And Personally Groome Dhim For This Job. Wanny Just Went With The Program. He Trusted Jj.

Oh And Speaking Of Jj, Why Is This Bumb Still Speaking On The Dolphins. If I Ever Had A Chance To Interview Him I Would Always Have This To Say To Him. Look Man You Quit On Us So We Dont Need Your Feedback Or Input.
Man He Left Zach, Jt, Madison, Surtain, Konrad And So Out To Dry That Year. He Knows Wanny Isnt A Head Coach.

Glad to see everyone agreeing. Poster is ignorant.

Quite possibly the best owner in sports. Sadly I've got to tell you, Mr. H & Bob Kraft are the best of friends. Those are two of the classiest owners in pro sports. Anyone close to the league will tell you as much.

Huizenga can be held accountable for all the bad things that have happened because he allowed "The Dave and Rick Show" to continue a year after it should have been cancelled. Huizenga knows nothing about football and has even said so. He claimed to be a Marlins fan and then absolutely gutted that team. Wayne is a scumbag that should stick to trash and used cars.

What does he need to know about football? He is the owner of the team - not the Coach or GM.

Why did he "gut the Marlins" - he WAS losing money - it was a smart business move on his part. Any of us would have done the smae exact thing - if you say otherwise, you are kidding yourself.

Do you honestly think that prior to creating Blockbuster he knew everything about the Film Industry?

He is the wrong owner for such a proud and storied franchise like the Dolphins. How could he just stand by over the last few seasons and watch what his favorite son (DW) has done to this team. Sure owners like Snyder and Jones are an irritation to their coaches its only because they want to do what ever it takes for their teams to be winners. And for the most part they have turned those teams around. While Wayne has let this team continue to spiral out of control. What makes it worse for the Dolphins is that because of such stupid and uninformed decisions that this Mgmt. has made even if we go 0 and 16 we wont even have the luxury of the draft picks that the other sucko teams in the league have had in the past. Im sorry Dolphin Fans but I see no relief any time soon for our misery. So start a tab and pray.

Just another broken hearted fan.
Your absolutely right, but heres the reason why..............

Wayne admittedly knows nothing about football and yet he chooses to retain control of hiring and firing the head coach.

If he knows nothing about football he needs the best GM he can find and he needs to let that GM hire and fire the head coach.

Its very simple but its the reason Wayne is a bad owner.

The one thing I didn't like was the 'GM search' which was just wasting these guys time to get their valuable opinions on this team. That was something that seems so double-handed I couldn't see Jerry Jones or Dan Snyder doing...well maybe I could see Snyder!! That's the one big complaint I have. And the obvious PR move of hiring Marino as VP.

Wayne Huizenga is unknowledgeable but has good intentions. He will spend whatever money is recommended in order to make the Dolphins win. His fault is that he has listened to people who make mostly bad recommendations.

Bill Bidwell and Mike Brown are unknowledgeable and have bad intentions. They are owners solely to be members of the club. They don't care about wins and losses, and in fact may prefer losing to winning because maintaining a winner is more expensive. They're happy to suck off the NFL's shared revenue teat, letting the other owners market the league and fill the stands at their stadiums. They have the cap room to be able to compete but choose to stuff that money in their pockets. They have the means to be able to provide quality facilities for their teams (and safe fields for the players) but choose to stuff that money in their pockets.

Give me a Huizenga over a Bidwell or Brown 101 times out of 100.
