According to ESPN, the Titans are willing to trade K. Britt (WR) and considered releasing him. I wanted to throw my thoughts out there before the "lets trade for Britt" threads popped up. The emergence of B. Heartline proves we have a true #2, the solid play of Gibson proves we have a solid slot, and R. Matthews play in the 4th quarter of the Falcon game last week is comforting enough to move forward with our young receiver.

If we had any questions about our offense, I think we're set!

why wold we want a wr?

I think this team has a pretty precise idea of the kind of person and player it wants at the wide receiver position, and IMO Kenny Britt ain't it.

I'm honest to goodness more excited about what I'm seeing out of Rishard Matthews right now than what I would be by adding Kenny Britt.

As I understand it, Britt has had many off the field issues and has an aptitude to get into trouble. Since Joe Philbin arrived, we appear to have recruited a higher percentage of high character guys. I don't see that changing. It seems the right approach. I doubt that we look at Britt. Next...

Im all about adding another receiver. I want someone that Tannehill can just throw it up for and has a reasonable chance to come down with it. I want someone to exploit the mismatches Wallace creates. I want someone who doesnt go down when a strong breeze blows through the stadium. I want someone who physically abuses corners. I want a nasty 4 receiver set, like Philbin had in Green Bay.

I do not want a headcase who is in the last year of his contract and is getting run out of town because, despite the plethora of second chances given to him, he decided to reward his coaches faith by pissing on them in the media.

We don't need him, and won't get him, but he's a big-bodied wide receiver the likes of which we currently don't have. No jump ball threat on this offense right now.

I fully expect Britt or Josh Gordon to the Patriots. It's inevitable, and a very bad thing for us.

At this point in the season, trading for a WR doesn't make a lot of sense given the amount of time it takes to learn the offense and build chemistry with the QB. However, if the right opportunity presented itself I wouldn't rule it out. Britt has to many off field issues but if team like Tampa offered up a player like Vincent Jackson, it would warrant strong consideration.

Generally I'd say go get him. This season isn't the regular "general" season for our team tho. He is exactly what we need in size and strength, with the ability to do exactly what we need a wr to do...go up and bring it down in traffic. As I mature and grow, I take heed in team chemistry and realize now Britt could mess things up. If Marshall doesn't prove he is that guy by Years end i say get Britt in the off season and see if he will work out. Many a player has realized their position after being in a new city, on a new team.

If Coach Joe wanted no part of Marshall an eminently more talented problematic receiver without much of the off-field thuggery issues, ain't no way he'd consider even if our receiver corp was in bad shape which it isn't. However IMO this will be a litmus test for a particular WR-needy team's new GM on whether unlike his predecessor who signed a CB with 2 felony arrests hanging over his head and spent a draft pick on a player with a felony trial hanging over his, he takes the high, not desperate road (that particular team shall remain nameless lest this thread gets derailed during business hours by anyone trying to defend the indefensible)

Off the field issues and bad knees.. not worth the trouble. If we were to go after a "tradable" wide receiver it would be Josh Gordon, but we are pretty decent at WR right now and in no position to upgrade with all 3 having new contracts.
