IMO, both Dallas and the Giants jobs will be opening up this week.. Both, along with Pitt, would be more appealling than the Miami gig.. We better get moving soon!

In fact, we might be the least appealing spot other than Oakland.. :(
 
This is something we definitely don't want to rush! We want to make sure we get the right canidate. We will be bringing the canidates in for the second interviews this week. Keep the faith all is good. We are in the process of turning this franchise around again.:wink:
 
I don't agree with you on this...Dallas has T.O. and not too many coaches want to deal with his antics. The Giants have a lot of internal issues that may be too much of a challenge for a new head coach.
The Dolphins have an owner who is pretty much hands off so the coach can have free reign to run the team as he sees fit.
 
If a coach truly considers NY, AZ, ATL, Dallas before us he has to be nuts, Pitts is better though. I cant imagine someone wanting to coach for Jones at Dallas, or Vick at ATL, Zona might be appealing but its an awful place to live, Theres a win now attitude in NYG that I wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole.

No he pretty much told Jones it was either him or TO, if Jones keeps TO Parcells quits, he didnt quit midseason just cause the team was doing well, otherwise, he would of quit.
 
there are a lot of qualified cordinators for the job. The key is to be patient and get a guy we want, not panic and hire someone just because he can get to office quicker (Bills with Mularkey, 9ers with Erickson,Cardinals with every coach before Dennis Green, and to a lesser extent Mora with Facons)
 
I still think that Miami is the most attractive job. Top 10 pick, young stud RB, and #3 defense.

Arizona and Oakland are never attractive jobs.
As long as Vick is in Atlanta it is a black eye on that job, and the owner is creepy, and meddling.
Dallas is high profile, but working for Jerry is not like getting to work for Wayne. Especially if it comes with having to coach TO.
New York is going to be sold, which is always a red flag for head coaches.

I think were more appealing then the Falcons and Cardinals, based alone on their history.

I don't agree with that - Miami is very appealing. I would give the Steelers the edge, but other than that I think we are the most appealing.
 
I don't know how good the Giants are going to be next year. Tiki's gone and Eli really isn't all that impressive as a QB. They'll have a big, bruising running back in Brandon Jacobs though. I doubt he'll pick up the slack for Tiki though.

Why are the Giants thinking about a new coach anyway? They made the playoffs at least.
 
I want to make sure we get the right guy. Definitely don't want to see them rush it.

Get Jimmy Johnson back he is 2 years young then Parcells (who is 65 years old) he could interm for a year or 2 until Cowher is ready to coach again.:D

The guy we want might still be in the play offs. Can't make an offer until his team is out of the play offs.
