PERIOD...At this point I give the slight edge to Jake Long over Chris Long but drafted either is a wise choice...We've been bad for so long becasue of our crummy oline...Not having Danny boy hurt too but we won without him when we had a good line...Parcells knows that foundation on both sides of the ball starts with the lines...I hope that we address this and solify the positions with our 1st 4 picks...

Jake Long, Quentin Groves would be nice additions

u right it starts with the lines that is what i have told all my buddies

a great dline will make a below average secondary average to above average....where as a great secondary will not be as good if the line is terrible....qb pressure and stopping the run are the keys to a great defense...

Actually a great secondary gives alittle more time for D-lineman to attack the QB. We saw that with Madison and Surtain first hand. O-Line tend to block for a short time believing the QB has thrown the football already.

actually it goes both ways. giants showed that in the super bowl.

OL dont block for a short time thinking the QB has thrown the ball. They stick with their guy as long as possible.

The most important thing we need to build right now is the offensive line becasue it is the key to building a strong team

Yes I saw that, I never disagreed with his point, I just pointed out that a great secondary can be extremely effective.

Yes you see Olineman look back not knowing where the QB is because they too have a timer going off in their heads about how long certain play calls go. When the QB can't get rid of the ball most try to get more time scrambling around and by then there is no pocket anymore.

Sorry but Madison and Surtain had a very good line putting pressure on the QB.

i want us to get a very mean and tough o line. the type of line that produces very hard core, smashmouth run games. saban said we wanted the other team to hate playing us. well hardcore lines on both sides produce that. imagine ronnie behind a line like emmitt smith had. very very scary! i believe this is the year to get that type tackle. i dont want twinkle toes thomas. i want a mean strong tough mauler like jake long. if its true that long gives a little ground to thomas in way of pass blocking. its not much. 3 or 4 step drops will hide that. so will running behind him highlighting his strength.
