We Can Still Win 9 Games...

...if we split with Buffalo and the Jets (very possible), lose to Denver and NE (very likely), and beat Oakland, Seattle, St. Louis, SF and KC (somewhat possible). The defense can only get better, and the offense had a bad day against a top 2 or 3 defense in the league. Or maybe I'm just completely dillusional. Thoughts?

I like your optimism, but it's not happening this year. You can't plug every hole in one offseason. The secondary is too below average too cover up their mistakes consistently and the offense's lack of receivers holds them back. We are capable of beating any team but we just can;t be that consistent to win 7 out of the final 10. I think a total of 5 or 6 wins is more likely but more importantly, we are improving, headed in the right direction, and it's fun to watch them.

Have you seen the Bills play? It would be a miracle to split that series with them. I am so not looking forward to this Sunday.

I understand the Bills are good, but miracle? They aren't that good. They aren't dominating, plus we have payed them well at home recently. I'm not saying we will win or it won;t be tough, but saying a potential win would be a miracle is a bit much.

We've also lost 7 of our last 8 against Buffalo. I fully expect to get swept this year as well. I mean, bottomline is they are just better than us. Can't sugarcoat it at all, just the way it is.

Last year even Cam Cameron's joke of a team should have won against them if not for a penalty on a kick return. Beating the Bills is possible, not probable, but possible.

My preseason prediction was 7-9 which I still believe is attainable but by no means a lock. St Louis these past 2 games proves that a team with our holes can't count on any sure wins. It's great to be optimistic but the litmus test is whether you'd bet your own hard-earned serious money on something happening. Few here would bet on a 9 or better win season something tells me.

9 wins is certainly not going to happen. When the dust settles at season end we’ll have 4 wins and no more. 4-12 is improvement on last year. If all goes well we’ll play .500 next year and maybe have a legit shot at a winning record the following year.

The point is...we dont beat them. Whether we didnt catch a break or not. The Bills are better than us right now. Like I said, these games may be close, but I fully expect to lose.
