we deserve this

First let me start off by saying i dont post threads very often let alone post at all (380 posts in 2 years), but i had something on my mind that i wanted to share. Now im 16 years old and have been a fan since i was only five which says a lot of what i have been through just like all of u on this board, and when we beat the jets and won the division after what we went through last season, who as a fan, a real fan, feels that they deserve this?

I believe i do, especially since i have watched this team (in harsh terms) FAIL over the past seven years, especially last year, but not once did i give up on them, not once was i embarresed to wear my jersey to school though all these idiots would come up to me and say "dude arent they 0-11", " arent they 0-13" " didnt they go 1-15" etc. with little smirks on their faces. The happiest moment in all of my sixteen years was when we beat the ravens in overtime last year and i still remember watching the bengals game on NFL.COM gamecenter, though we were 1-14 and the season had BEEN over. whooo... now that i got that off my back, who else feels the same way??


PS: I cant wait to wear my division champs hat and shirt to school! HAHAHAHAHA.

dude same exact way. living in ny, i had endured bashing constantly from all these jet fans, and even my friends who were giant fans would rip on me about the dolphins constantly. i havent missed any game over the past 10 years besides for the game vs kc in 05 when it was blacked out everywhere besides miami and kc, and i have seen everything, and now this feels so much sweeter. looking foward to watching the dolphins sunday destroy the ravens.

Man dude, I feel your pain. Going to school wearing my Brown jersey there is always kids making fun of me saying they suck ect.
But that's not even the worst thing. I hate kids that go with whoever is winning. Last year there was this kid who said he was a fan of the Pats and then when they lost in the SB he comes to school the next day with an Eli jersey. So anoying.

ya i agree, the one thing that ticks me off so much r bandwagon fans. i hate it when we r doing terrible and ppl dont wear there dolphin paraphenlia, dnt rlly care so much about the team etc, but then once we r good again like now, its like i am the biggest dolphin fan in the world, i love this team etc.also the thing about being a bandwagon fan is i dont see how u can rlly enjoy this, bc part of being a real fan is suffering through tough times with the team that makes it so much sweeter when we win like now.

Couldnt agree more. Im 17 years old, been a fan also since i was 5. So ive gone through the same as you and i also watched the dolphins and bengals on gamecenter last year, i live in ny. I never gave up on this team, never stopped supporting them, and yes i feel we deserve this as fans of the greatest football team in the NFL.

Yeah ,this season my wife made a comment like " I'm glad the Dolphins are having a good a season after being so bad for so long". So I went on a short tirade about how great the Dolphins are and how we've only had four losing seasons in 30+ years.

I've only been lucky enough to catch the last 23 or so my first Dolphins memory was beating the 85 Bears anyway we have never been as bad as many other franchises and I believe we get bad rap.

When I think of bad franchises I think of the Pats from my childhood, if you lived in New england you never would have even known we had a team I can't remember ever meeting one fan until I turned 15 or something like that, or the colts of the 90's ,Saints ,Cards ,Seahawks ,Bengals ,Bucks ,Rams ,Atlanta ,Raiders ,or Detroit of today.

These are franchises that in my lifetime deserved to be called so bad for so long , not the Dolphins and I feel very lucky that my uncle was a diehard Dolphins fan and now so am I. Because in the Dolphins we have one the greatest franchises from any sport.

But your right we do deserve this season but not because we have sufferd ,for we have not sufferd through many losing seasons but because we are the Miami Dolphins and we belong where we are right now!!!
